William Nicholas “Nicky” Bluntzer III

William Nicholas “Nicky” Bluntzer, III, 59, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2010.  He was born December 20, 1950 in Corpus Christi, Texas to William Nicholas “Bill” Bluntzer, Jr. and Eugenia “Rusty” Ritter Bluntzer.  Nicky was a disabled U.S. Army veteran and served in Korea as a medic during the Vietnam War.  He was a life member of the VFW Post 7841 in Robstown, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Nicholas “Bill” Bluntzer, Jr.

He is survived by his mother, Eugenia “Rusty” Bluntzer of Corpus Christi, Texas; his sister, Nell Bluntzer (George) Jones of Corpus Christi, Texas; his brothers, Rick (Becky) Bluntzer of Spring Branch, Texas and Paul (Marce) Bluntzer of Odem, Texas; his aunt, Naomi Bluntzer Tischler of Robstown, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial services will be celebrated at 10 A.M. Friday, October 29, 2010 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Msgr. Seamus McGowan as celebrant.  Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make contributions to the charity of your choice.

Betty J. Greene

Betty J. Greene, 74, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away Monday, October 25, 2010.  She was born January 3, 1936 in Danville, Kentucky to Alvin Emmett and Laura Eloise Dexter Webb.  Mrs. Greene was a homemaker, a member of Calallen Baptist Church, the Order of the Eastern Star and the Daughters of the American Revolution.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Melissa Ayn Zissa.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Dunham Garrett Greene of Corpus Christi, Texas; her daughters, Laura (Clark) Slacum of Orange, Texas and Robin (Rick) Ford of Corpus Christi, Texas; a son-in-law, Don Zissa of Houston, Texas; her brother, James (Dianne) Webb of Astor, Florida; 7 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild.

Visitation with the family present will be from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11:45 A.M. Thursday, October 28, 2010 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas with Brother Jack Willoughby officiating.  Burial will follow.

In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make contributions to the American Diabetes Association.

Donna Sue Howell Drew

Donna Sue Howell Drew was born on November 3, 1950 in Lovington, New Mexico to H. H. “Chub” and Jean Howell.   She passed away on October 12, 2010 in Corpus Christi, Texas.  Donna grew up in Lovington, New Mexico where she graduated from High School in 1968.   She graduated in May of 1972 with a B.S. degree in Education from New Mexico State University.  She taught for 36 years at Tuloso-Midway ISD in Corpus Christi, Texas.   Her students described her as a fun and caring teacher who treated all of her students like her own kids.  Donna was also well known for giving assistance and encouragement to beginning teachers, and was a great mentor for them.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Jean Howell; and her son, Nicholas Wesley Drew.

Left behind to cherish her memories are her husband, James Drew; sister, Paula (Howell) Christo and husband, Joe Christo of San Antonio, Texas; and two nieces, Meredith Christo Ninness of Austin, Texas and Lindsay Christo of San Antonio, Texas.  Donna also had a host of other family members and friends.

Donna’s blessings included being loved by others who were drawn to her kindness, sense of humor, and sweet personality.

Her family and friends draw strength from the assurance that this is not the end, but the beginning of a new life for her with the Lord. Words cannot express how much they loved her and will miss her.

Visitation will be Friday, October 15th from 2:00 to 7:00 P.M. with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Sawyer-George Funeral Home at 12497 Leopard Street, Corpus Christi, Texas.

A celebration of Donna’s life will be Saturday, October 16th at 2 P.M. at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Curtis Crisp officiating.  Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Virginia L. Hrncir

Robstown, Texas

Virginia L. Hrncir, 84, passed away on October 9, 2010 at her home.  Virginia was born March 23, 1926 in Boones Mill, Virginia to George Harvey and Ida May King Hall.  She had lived in Robstown since her marriage to Wilson R. Hrncir in 1945.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Robstown, the V.F.W. and American Legion Auxiliaries, had been a 4-H Home Economics instructor and enjoyed square dancing in her younger years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson R. Hrncir on August 18, 2010.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ard of Corpus Christi, Texas; her grandchildren, Jason (Laura) Ard and Amy Ard all of San Antonio, Texas; and her sister, Ellen Hall of Roanoke, Virginia.

Visitation will be from 2 P.M. until 8 P.M. with the family present from 5:30 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 P.M. Thursday, October 14, 2010 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Barbara Dyke officiating.  Burial will follow in Robstown Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make contributions to the First United Methodist Church in Robstown.

Robert C. Henderson, Sr.

Robert C. “Bob” “Pa” Henderson, Sr., 86, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away Friday, October 1, 2010 after a long illness.  He was born August 10, 1924 in Yountville, Napa Valley, California to Riley Caswell and Hannah Davidson Henderson.  Bob was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII and owned and operated Brine Service Company, Inc. for over 53 years.  He was a member of Independence Lodge No. 1337, A.F.&A.M., and the V.F.W. Post # 3837.

He was preceded in death by his wife of over 53 years, Erma Lee Henderson; his son, Eddie Wayne Henderson; his brothers and sisters, Calvin, Bill, June and Mary.

He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Ann Henderson; his son, Robert C. Henderson, Jr., both of Corpus Christi, Texas; his daughter-in-law, Gail Henderson of Amarillo, Texas; his granddaughter, Kimberly Shea (Steven) Paniagua; one great granddaughter and one great grandson; his sisters, Lucy and Robby Jean and her husband Ronnie; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jack and Sandy Foshee; all of Corpus Christi, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Visitation with the family present will be from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M. Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 A.M. Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Cole officiating.  Entombment will follow in Memory Gardens Mausoleum.

Those who wish may make contributions to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.

The family would especially like to thank his doctors, nurses, home health care and dialysis center for their loving care of Bob.
