Mae Thomas Trotter

                                                                                      MTrotter,Maeae Thomas Trotter, 77, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2011. She was born August 2, 1933 in Jasper, Texas to Lottie Earl and Myrtle Lee Ray Neal. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her son, Larry Allen Huber.

She is survived by her husband, Ben Trotter of Corpus Christi, Texas; her daughter, Leslyne (Richard) Bartek of Yoakum, Texas; her sons, Gerald B. (Debbie) Thomas of Corpus Christi, Texas and Mike (Alma) Thomas of Odessa, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren.

The family would like to give a special thank you to her wonderful neighbors, Carl and Berenice Jacobson, for their support through this time.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 1 P.M. Saturday, April 2, 2011 at Robstown Memorial Park Cemetery with Smokey Neal officiating. Burial will follow.

In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make contributions to their favorite charity.

Mildred M. “Dutch” Lane

Mildred M. “Dutch” Lane passed away March 28, 2011 at the age of 83.

Memorial services will be conducted on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 3:00 P.M. at The Esplanade, 5813 Esplanade Drive, Corpus Christi, Texas.

Burial will be at a later date in the Houston National Cemetery.

John A. Hoeber, Jr.

John A. Hoeber, Jr., age 83, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away March 27, 2011.

He was born February 18, 1928 in Alice, Texas to John A. Hoeber, Sr. and Josephine Walker Hoeber.

Mr. Hoeber was a longtime member of the South Bluff United Methodist Church, member of the United Steelworkers Union, member of the NRA and an avid hunter and fisherman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Robert Hoeber and his wife Pat Hoeber.

He is survived by his daughters, Deborah (William) Bowles, Jonna Botello (Chuck) Funk; son, Larry (Paulette) Hoeber; six grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and a special niece Rosalind (Jim) Worthman.

Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Sawyer-George Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Cherie Hopkins officiating.

Interment will be in the Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Robert Downer Southard

Southard, Robert

Robert Downer Southard, age 87, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away March 21, 2011.

He was born in Greensboro, Alabama on June 4, 1923 to Benton Montgomery Southard, Sr. and Minnie Downer Southard.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1942.  After the war he returned to Southard Lumber Company in Ponce De Leon, Florida.  He moved to Texas in 1956 and started R.D. Southard Cotton Gin, which he owned for seventeen years.  After that he owned his own remodeling contractor business until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Benton Montgomery Southard.  He is survived by his wife, Patty Lou Southard of Corpus Christi, Texas; sons, George Robert “Bobby” (Virginia) Southard of Robstown, Texas, Dallas Franklin (Judy) Southard of Corpus Christi, Texas, Jack Montgomery (Maria) Southard of Corpus Christi, Texas; granddaughter, Patty Jo (Andrew) James of Houston, Texas, Cynthia Vargas of College Station, Texas; great grand sons, Taylor George James of Houston, Texas, Dylan Robert James of Houston, Texas

Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Sawyer-George Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday March 23, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Sawyer-George Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Simmons officiating.

Interment will follow in the Robstown Memorial Park.

DiAnna Delores Willis

DiAnna Delores Willis, 55, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2011. She was born December 12, 1955 in Fort Worth, Texas, grew up in Portland, Texas, and lived in Swinney Switch before moving to Canyon Lake, Texas. She especially loved her place in Colorado. She was previously involved in the Coastal Bend Youth City, Corpus Christi Head Injury Association, Child Abuse Prevention Council, Grace United Methodist Church Youth Group and was presently a member of the George West United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Delores Weed and her husband, Larry Willis.

She is survived by her daughter, Heather Dobson Martin; step-son, Colton Willis; father, Robert C. Weed, Jr.; sister, DiNette Weed; brother, Robert C. Weed, III.

Memorial services will be conducted at 4 P.M. Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doug Hinchcliff, Pastor of George West United Methodist Church officiating.

No flowers please. We request donations to the American Cancer Society.
