Lois Marie Smith Rach Jostes

Jostes, LoisLois Marie Smith Rach Jostes, age 95, passed away April 27, 2011 in Corpus Christi, Texas. Lois was born September 7, 1915 in Orange, Texas to Clarence and Mae Smith and was an only child. She grew up in Orange and graduated from High School there. In 1936 she married Gilbert Rach also from Orange. They immediately moved to Freer, Texas where Gilbert was working in the oil fields and they lived there for the next forty years.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Gilbert Rach, her second husband Herman Jostes, daughter, Martha Fleming and one great-grandson. Lois was a good and loving mother who is survived by her son, Wayne Rach; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren and one great great grand child.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 from 12 noon to 2:00 P.M. in the Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday May 3, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. in the Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bill Simmons officiating.

Interment will follow in the Cenizo Hill Cemetery.

Carl W. Cooper

Carl W. Cooper, 86, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2011. He was born October 3, 1924 to Frank Cooper and Blanche Vance-Cooper. Carl served his country in the U. S. Navy during WWII and was stationed in Corpus Christi. He was an active member of South Shore Christian Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Cooper; three daughters, Sharon (John) Bedford, Patty (Gary) Valentine and Becky (Jerry) Huffman; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be conducted at 1 P.M. Friday, April 29, 2011 at South Shore Christian Church.

In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to South Shore Christian Church in memory of Carl W. Cooper.

Gary Allen Witt

Gary Allen Witt, 69, passed away Monday, April 25, 2011. He was born December 2, 1941 in Parkville, Missouri to Jewell Johnson Witt and Ina Mae Cavanaugh Witt. Mr. Witt graduated from Parkhill High School in Kansas City, Missouri in 1959 and attended Park College. He was a Kansas City, Missouri firefighter, was a business consultant, owned a catering business and CW Café in Mathis before becoming ill. He was a wonderful, beloved husband, and a proud father, grandfather and great grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Georgia Witt of Mathis, Texas; his daughter, Jennifer Witt-Vallejo of Kansas City, Kansas; three grandchildren, Andrew Vallejo, Anthony Vallejo (Tenille) and Amy Bradbury (Andy); eight great grandchildren, Alyssia, Julianna and Eva Vallejo, Tatum, Avary and Braylin Vallejo and Kaitlin and Kennedy Bradbury.

Visitation with the family present will begin at 9 A.M. and the Memorial Service will begin at 11 A.M. Saturday, April 30, 2011 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Orange Grove, Texas with Pastor Jonathon Kosec officiating.

Those who wish may make contributions to SPCA, San Patricio County, P. O. Box 1693, Aransas Pass, Texas 78335 in his memory to help start an animal rescue facility in San Patricio County.

Jack D. Moore

Moore, Jack D.

Jack D. Moore, age 87, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away April 22, 2011. He was born February 4, 1924 in Dallas, Texas to Otis and Elsie Bradshaw Moore.

He served our country in the United States Marine Corps during WW II in the Pacific Area and was honorably discharged as a Corporal in December 1945. Jack married Emily C. Renneberg on April 30, 1948 in Corpus Christi, Texas and moved to the Annaville area in 1953. He retired from PPG Industries in 1979 after thirty-two years of service. His interest included chess, bridge and remote controlled airplanes.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Dale Moore, two sisters, two brothers and his wife, Emily, his life long companion for over sixty-two years.

Mr. Moore is survived by his daughters, Sherry (Bryan) Courtney of Corpus Christi, Texas, Beverly (Jay) Cooper of Katy, Texas; son, Stephen Moore of Corpus Christi, Texas; sisters, Maxine Roach of Corpus Christi, Texas, Dorris (Cotton) Roeber of Longview, Texas; grandchildren, Jody Badum and James Badum both of Austin, Texas; Janet Cooper and Jess Cooper both of Katy, Texas.

Visitation will be on Monday, April 25, 2011 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Sawyer-George Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at the Grace United Methodist Church with The Rev. Mark Montgomery officiating.

Interment will follow in Seaside Memorial Park.

Dorothy M. Garner

Dorothy M. Garner, 76, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away Thursday, April 21, 2011. She was born November 11, 1934 in Sandia, Texas to Frank and Frances Payne Henrichson. Mrs. Garner was a former Bee County Queen in Beeville and attended Annaville Baptist Church where she was active in the Giddy Up and Go Gang.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray H. Garner and a great grandchild, Harley Chase Manheimer.

She is survived by her daughters, Peggy (Bill) Kerr of Robstown, Texas, Judy (Buster) Atkinson of Odem, Texas and Linda (John) Mikulencak of Corpus Christi, Texas; her son, James (Laurie) Garner of Corpus Christi, Texas; her brothers, James Marvin (Wanda) Henrichson of Mesquite, Texas and R J (Rae) Henrichson of Winnie, Texas; 15 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation with the family present will be from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. Monday, April 25, 2011 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 P.M. Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Annaville Baptist Church with Brother Robert Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in the Sandia Cemetery in Sandia, Texas.
