Myron Charles Truesdale, II

Myron Charles Truesdale, II, age 64 of Orange Grove, Texas passed away May 23, 2011 in Houston, Texas. Charles was born November 17, 1946 in Robstown, Texas to Myron Charles and Mildred Wright Truesdale.

Charles was an altar server for twenty-five years, an Eagle Scout, Deputy Constable in Nueces County, a Third Degree Knights of Columbus, an avid member of NRA and TSRA.

 

Charles was preceded in death by his grand parents, Milus (Bopo) and Mary Wright; parents, M.C. and Mildred Wright Truesdale.

He is survived by his Wife, Nita Truesdale of Orange Grove, Texas; daughter, Lisa (Lowery) Truesdale Ross of Orange Grove, Texas; other children, Loretta Benavidez, Chuck Truesdale and Jennifer Gonzales; brothers, Mark, Greg and John Milus; sisters, Mary Violet and Susan; grandchildren Sybilla and Connor Myron Ross, numerous other grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family survive.

The Rosary will be recited on Thursday, May 26, 2011 at 7:00 P.M. in the Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 27, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. in the St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. Michael Howell as celebrant.

Interment will follow in the Sandia Cemetery.

Katie Lee Wilson Kilpatrick

My beloved Mother Katie Lee Wilson Kilpatrick, 90, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away on May 22, 2011 in Corpus Christi, Texas.

She was born Nov. 2, 1919 in Gonzales, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband A.C. Kilpatrick , parents, Reginald George Wilson and Mallie Ligon Wilson; sisters, Thelma Wilson Grove, Reg Mae Wilson Rosebraugh, Arline Wilson Mayes and brothers, John Wilson, James Warren Wilson and Ligon Wilson.

She is survived by her son John W. Stringer of San Antonio, Texas. One grandson, Christopher Lee Stringer and one granddaughter Stephanie Diane Roth (Russell Alan).

She had six great grand children, Rebekah Christina Ikea Stringer, Shannon Amenia Stringer, Iain McKay Stringer, Lauren Elizabeth Roth, Sydney Madison Roth and Kendall Ryeigh Roth. One sister Maxine Wilson Glasson of Taft and a brother Ralph Wilson of Corpus Christi, Texas. One step son, Ronald Kilpatrick and one step daughter, Patsy Kilpatrick.

She was a longtime member of Calallen Baptist Church.

She will be remembered for her wonderful love of her family, cooking, sewing and her love of cross-stitch. Daily she would work the crossword puzzle and she also enjoyed working the word puzzles.

Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M until 1l :00 A.M. Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home

Graveside services will be conducted at Robstown Memorial Park on F.M. 1899 in Robstown, Texas on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at 11:30 A.M. with Bro. Jack Willoughby officiating.

A reception will follow at Calallen Baptist Church after the graveside services.

William Robert Parr

William Robert Parr, age 98, died after a brief illness on May 20, 2011 in Corpus Christi. He was born in Lockhart, Texas to James Robert and Betty Lou Parr on November 13, 1912.

A near-lifelong residency in Robstown resulted from the purchase of farmland in Petronila that J R Parr bought after traveling to the area on the Blackland Special in the early 20th Century. Robert graduated from Robstown High School in 1930, followed by completion of a B.S in Civil Engineering from The Agricultural & Mechanical College of Texas in 1934 and commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the US Army.

 

He and his wife, Mary Virginia, of 70 years were married in 1940.

During World War II, Robert went to England with General Eisenhower’s staff in 1942. Later he served as a Division Engineer with the 2nd Air Division of the 8th Army Air Force. He was honorably discharged as a Captain in 1946.

 

After the war, he established Parr Block Company in Corpus Christi where he manufactured and sold concrete masonry building products for 40 years.

 

He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Robstown.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Kathrine Burditt, brother J. Carl Parr, grandson Roland Clay Harding, niece Betty Lou Burditt, nephew Francis Allen Burditt, Jr. and son-in-law Henry Roland Harding. He is survived by his wife, Mary Virginia, children Robert and Dilek Parr of Boerne, Earl Parr of Corpus Christi, and Sylvia Parr Harding of Hilltop Lakes, Texas; also by eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, niece Lee Parr Phipps, and great-nieces Kathy Otahal and Brandy Shores and Margaret Crossen.

 

A memorial service will be conducted on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at 11:00 am in the First United Methodist Church in Robstown officiated by Rev. Barbara Dykes.

Interment will be at 12 Noon Thursday in the family section of the Lockhart Cemetery.

John Chipy

John Chipy, 60, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away Sunday, May 15, 2011 in a Houston, Texas hospital after a long illness. John was born February 26, 1951 in Saint Pee Sur Nivelle, France and was a U.S. Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pierre and Veronica Chipy, and his father-in-law, Bill Upton.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Kathy Chipy of Corpus Christi, Texas; his daughters, Annette (Edward) Bronnenberg of Cibolo, Texas and Julee (B.J.) Pitre of Spring, Texas; his son, John Michael (Rhonda) Chipy of San Antonio, Texas; was blessed by his grandchildren, Caleb and Kacey Bronnenberg, Brianna and Devin Chipy and Connor and Alyson Pitre; his brother, Michael Chipy and his sister, Marie Dupurou both of Saint Pee Sur Nivelle, France; his mother-in-law, Marian Upton of George West, Texas; his co-workers and many friends.

Visitation will be from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M. Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 A.M. Thursday, May 19, 2011 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Stephen Wood officiating.

Graveside services with full military honors will be in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas at a later date.

Michael T. Lumpkin

Michael T. Lumpkin, 48, of Mathis, Texas, passed away Friday, May 13, 2011. He was born May 2, 1963 in Corpus Christi, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Layton Joel Lumpkin and Nancy Jo Perser Lumpkin.

He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Linda Lumpkin; his son, Michael Auvis Isaacs; his step-daughter, Stephanie (Chris) Hughes; his step-son, Stephen (Jessica) Feske; grandchildren, Landon, Carmelo, Ayden and Layne; his sister, Dorie (John) Korpi; numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be at 11:30 A.M. Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 3133 Waldron Road, Corpus Christi, Texas.
