Roy L. de la Houssaye

Roy L. de la Houssaye, Sr., 88, passed away Friday, July 22, 2011. He was born November 25, 1922 in St. Martinville, Louisiana to Sydney and Odile Maraist de la Houssaye. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII having served in the 2nd Armored Division known as “Hell On Wheels”. He retired as a superintendent of Suntide-Koch Refinery, enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances de la Houssaye; his daughter, Marjo Bel and his brother, Fred de la Houssaye.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Roy, Jr. “Pete” and Marianne de la Houssaye; his son-in-law, Fred Bel; his brothers, Sydney and Johnny de la Houssaye; his grandchildren, Monique (Kevin), Clint (Allison), Brent, Dustin (Jimma) and Rus (Meg); his great grandchildren; Brette, Brooke, Brenna, Briggen, Brayson, Benjamin and Zoe; special thanks to his adopted family, Sol, Luz, Angie, Kathy and Maria Mungia, Radiation Oncologists, Doctors Regional Hospital Emergency, ICU and Staff, Angel Bright Hospice Care including Jerry, Dr. Piner and all of their staff, Palma Real Mathis Nursing Home and staff that named Roy the “Gentle Giant”, and his favorite companion, Rooster, his Chihuahua.

Visitation will be from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. with the family present from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. Monday, July 25, 2011 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 A.M. Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. Michael Howell as celebrant. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Odem, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Clint, Brent and Dustin Busenlehner, Kevin Usner, Jim Wolford and Rus Bel.

Honorary pallbearers will be Cecil Hamilton, Marvin West, Poncho Vickery, Ronnie Osburn, Ike Orsack, Floyd Menard and Terry Lee.

Larry Don Schuenemann

Larry Don Schuenemann, age 71, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away July 16, 2011.

 

He was born in Goliad County, Texas on June 16, 1940 to Lawrence and Martha Schuenemann.

He was preceded in death by his father and is survived by his wife, Jo Lois Schuenemann of Corpus Christi, Texas; children, Don (Marilyn) Schuenemann of Leander, Texas, Darryl (Linda) Schuenemann of Victoria, Texas, Laurey (Mario) Garcia of Beeville, Texas, Sandra Carter of Corpus Christi, Texas, Kimberly (Chris Saathoff) Temple of Corpus Christi, Texas, Katrina (J.) Wilson of Weatherford, Texas; mother, Lavern Schuenemann of Sandia, Texas; brother, Curtis Schuenemann of Sandia, Texas; fourteen grandchildren; four great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, July 18, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at St. John Lutheran Church with Pastor Jeffrey Thompson officiating.

Interment will follow in the Robstown Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to your favorite charity.

Gaynell Ann Dolezal Hoelscher

Gaynell Ann Dolezal Hoelscher, 69, of Robstown, Texas passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2011. She was born October 9, 1941 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was a graduate of Tuloso-Midway High School and was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Violet, Texas and the Daughters of the American Revolution.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Vernell Manning Dolezal.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Edgar Hoelscher of Robstown; her daughters, Regina Hoelscher of Georgetown, Texas, Crystal Burditt of Brandon, Mississippi, Nadyne (Dan) Sullivan of Portland, Texas, Danna (Todd) Yeager of Azle, Texas, and Anissa (Tony) Bullard of North Richland Hills, Texas; her father, George Dolezal of Corpus Christi, Texas; her brother, George Dolezal, II of Rosanky, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild.

The Rosary will be recited at 7 P.M. Friday, July 15, 2011 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Violet, Texas.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 A.M. Saturday, July 16, 2011 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Violet, Texas with Rev. Msgr. Celestine Murray as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Violet, Texas.

Andy Sizemore

Sizemore, Andy

Andy Sizemore, 52, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2011, after a brief illness. He was born July 6, 1959 in Corpus Christi, Texas. Andy was a heavy equipment operator, was an artifact collector, enjoyed photography and horticulture.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, H. S. and Odessa Sizemore and Sherman and Lillian Warren.

He is survived by his wife, Paula Sizemore; his son, Nicholas Andrew Sizemore; his parents, Ronnie and Virginia Sizemore; his brother, Jeff (Carolina) Sizemore; his sister, Tracey Callihan; his niece, Tiffany (Mark) Anderwald; his nephews, Wesley and Miles Callihan; his great niece, Brielle Anderwald; his good friends, Dale and Roxanne Mathis.

Visitation will be from 2 P.M. until 6 P.M. with the family present from 4 P.M. until 6 P.M. Sunday, July 10, 2011 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 10 A.M. Monday, July 11, 2011 at Seaside Memorial Park. Burial will follow.

Rafael Leonidas Brignoni

Brignoni, Rafael

Rafael Leonidas Brignoni, 54, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away Sunday, July 3, 2011. He was born August 28, 1956 in Bronx, New York, was a Staff Sergeant having served in the U. S. Air Force and was an aircraft mechanic. Rafael was a member of St. Peter, Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church where he sang in the choir, and was a 4th degree knight in the Knights of Columbus #7290. He had a wonderful sense of humor.

He was preceded in death by his father, Pedro Antonio Brignoni, Jr. and his grandmother, Juana (Abuela) Pelaez.

He is survived by his wife, Kim Brignoni; his children, Pamela Brignoni, Nicholas Brignoni, Karen Brignoni Drillen, Shelby Brignoni and Kolby Brignoni; his mother, Evangelina Brignoni; his siblings, Gigi (Scott) McIntyre, Lillian (Luis) Barbaran, Rose Escobosa, Evelyn (Kenny) Metcalf, Peter (Rachel) Brignoni and Michael Brignoni; his grandchildren, Dylan Schleuter, Morgan Drillen, Stormie Drillen, Aidan Schleuter and Connor Lee; 18 nieces and nephews.

The Rosary will be recited at 7:30 P.M. Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at St. Peter, Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 A.M. Thursday, July 7, 2011 at St. Peter, Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. Morgan Rowsome as celebrant. Burial will follow in Robstown Memorial Park with military honors.

Pallbearers will be Juan Cabasos, Don Stevens, Ray Schroeder, Doodle Jarnigan, Dennis Havrda and Ryan Schroeder.

Honorary pallbearers will be E. J. Arnecke and Roy Richter.
