Dolly Grace Zeigler Gribble

Dolly Grace Zeigler Gribble, age 68, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away August 30, 2011. She was born July 6, 1943 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Robert Henry and Grace Lois Carlisle Zeigler.

After graduation from Bossier High School, Dolly moved to Dallas where she was employed in the accounting and admissions department of St. Marks School of Texas. Dolly left St. Marks to take a position as a claims processor for Turner & Associates Insurance where she worked for many years. She later worked as an Executive Assistant to several independent real estate appraisers in the Dallas area, including Paul Tannehill & Associates. Dolly completed her working career as a counselor with the Texas Board of Pardons & Parole. She leaves behind several dear and life long friends in the Dallas area.

Dolly moved to Corpus Christi, Texas in 2005 to be near her family. She was a proud and devoted member of Grace United Methodist Church in Corpus Christi, Texas. Dolly enjoyed traveling, visiting with friends, spending time with her family, and play time with her two great nephews.

She is survived by her sister, Bobbie Jean Stacy; nephew Robert (Katherine) Stacy; nieces, Caroline (Brian) Nowell, Tara (Chris) Perry; great nephews, William Nowell, Preston Perry; numerous cousins.

Visitation will be on Thursday, September 1, 2011 from 12 noon to 8:00 P.M. with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Sawyer-George Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, September 2, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at Grace United Methodist Church with The Rev. Stan Whites officiating.

Interment will follow in the Seaside Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Pete Alexis, T.P. McNeill, Brian Nowell, Chris Perry, Robert Stacy and Scott Tilton.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations to the American Diabetes Association, or Grace United Methodist Church Building Fund.

John Kenneth Ryan

Ryan, John

John Kenneth Ryan, age 85, left this earth, August 28th, 2011, to be with Jesus. Ken was born October 8th, 1925 to Al and Gladys Ryan in Indiahoma, Oklahoma. He was the second of seven boys born to this union, and grew up in Weslaco, Texas. Ken joined the United States Marine Corps at the age of seventeen and was an Iwo Jima survivor. He came home from the war and met the love of his life, Naomi Joyce Labar and they married August 29, 1946. They were married 60 years. Ken graduated from the University of Oklahoma and pursued a lifelong career as a geological engineer. Ken loved the Lord. His heart’s desire was to lead men to Christ, whether it be in an office downtown or a prison cell.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joyce; brothers, Homer and Richard Ryan; and son-in-law, John Rackley.

He is survived by his sweet wife, Anita, who blessed his life abundantly; his daughter, Victoria Rackley of Corpus Christi, Texas; his sons, Tim Ryan of Harlingen, Texas and Ron (Nita) Ryan of Killeen, Texas; grandsons, Shane Rackley and Heath Rackley of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Joshua Ryan of Killeen, Texas; brothers, Leo Ryan, Bill Ryan, Jack Ryan and Wes Ryan; numerous nieces, nephews and many wonderful friends.

“To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 5:8.

Memorial services will be conducted at 3 P.M. Friday, September 2, 2011 at River Hills Baptist Church in Calallen, Texas with Bro. Bill Simmons officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Odem, Texas

Carolyn “Ann” Wilson

Carolyn “Ann” Wilson, 84, of Corpus Christi, Texas, a former longtime resident of Robstown, Texas, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at her home after a long illness. She was born April 14, 1927 in Prescott, Arizona to Rev. Charles Francis York and Mary Elizabeth Reeves York.

She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, and her Masters Degree in Education from Texas A&I University in Kingsville, Texas. She taught school in the Robstown Independent School District from 1944 until 1950 and again from 1958 to 1987 when she retired. She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Robstown where was a retired organist. Carolyn married Ralph George Wilson on June 19, 1949 in Navasota, Texas.

She is survived by her husband of over 62 years, Ralph Wilson of Corpus Christi, Texas; two sons, David Ralph (Nancy) Wilson of Abilene, Texas and Rick (Vickie) Wilson of Corpus Christi, Texas; five grandchildren, David John (Shelly) Wilson, Melanie Clark, Gregg Wilson, Melissa (Frank) Malone and Brian (Jen) Wilson; 12 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2 P.M. until 8 P.M. with the family present from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. Friday, August 26, 2011 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 A.M. Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Barbara Dyke, Pastor of First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Robstown Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Gregg Wilson, Brian Wilson, Frank Malone, Randy Wright, Mark Glasson and Jody Smart.

In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make contributions to First United Methodist Church in Robstown or to your favorite charity.

Daniel Todd “Danny” Miller

Daniel Todd “Danny” Miller, 35, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away Saturday, August 20, 2011 from injuries received in an accident. He was born May 26, 1976 in Tracy, Minnesota. He was a crane operator for Bay Ltd and had been a volunteer fireman at one time for Ingleside On The Bay.

He is survived by his wife, Stefnie Hill Miller of Corpus Christi, Texas; his children, Danson Hill Miller and Alivia Adair of Corpus Christi, Texas; his mother and step-father, Pat and Tom Locklear of Sinton, Texas; his father and step-mother, Joe and Kathy Miller of Pine City, Minnesota; his sisters, Peggy (Ray) Heron of California, Jessie (Brian) Erickson of Marshall, Minnesota, Anne Peck of Cambridge, Minnesota, Sandi Wagnon of Portland, Texas, Colleen (Daveton) Fearon of Grand Island, Nebraska, Nicole (Jason) Miller-De la Rosa of Katy, Texas; and Katie (Cody) Hahn of Sinton, Texas; his brothers, Robert (Sheri) Miller of Byron, Georgia, Cory (Carmen) Miller of Aransas Pass, Texas and Jason Miller of Pine City, Minnesota; a brother-in-law, Trae Wagnon of Portland, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews and other family members and countless friends.

He was a loving husband, father, son, brother and friend, and will be missed by all.

Graveside services will be conducted at 10 A.M. Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at the Sinton Cemetery in Sinton, Texas.

Chris Allen Christensen

Chris Allen Christensen, age 60, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away August 21, 2011. Chris was born April 2, 1951 in Chamberlain, South Dakota to Kenneth and Dorothy Christensen.

Chris was a member of the Masonic Lodge, a Shriner and was active with the Shrine Circus in Huron, South Dakota.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Eric Christensen.

He is survived by his wife, Val Christensen; sons from his former marriage, Christopher Neal Christensen, Nathan Cable Christensen, Brad Dale Christensen; children, Rebecca Faith “Becky” Christensen, Charity Ann Christensen Fink, Aaron Burl Christensen; brothers and sister, K.C. Christensen, Robert Christensen, Curtis Christensen, Mary Christensen, Joe Christensen; nine grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Thursday, August 25, 2011 from 5:00 to 9:00 P.M. at Sawyer-George Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, August 26, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. in the Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. E.L. Surginer, Sr. officiating.
