Mervyn Gene “Mac” McDonald

Mervyn Gene “Mac” McDonald, 83, passed away on October 29, 2011.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Letha Kirkley McDonald; his two sons, Gregg (Tammy) McDonald and Eric (Carrie) McDonald; one daughter, Elaine (Jon) Thedford; 14 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren.

The visitation will be held at Sawyer-George Funeral Home on October 31, 2011 from 1 P.M. until 8 P.M. with the family present from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M.

The funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church Chapel, Corpus Christi, Texas on November 1, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens.

Norma Jean Manley

Norma Jean Manley, 89, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away Sunday, October 23, 201l. She was born September 26, 1922 in Peru, Kansas to Calvin and Alma Johnson. Norma Jean was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and was the treasurer of the Northwest Hospital Auxiliary for many years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, F. E. “Sonny” Manley.

She is survived by her daughter, Glenda (Mark) Brandt of Corpus Christi, Texas; her son, Larry (Sandra) Manley of Midland, Texas; four grandchildren, Lisa, Karen, Michael and Stephanie; 5 great grandchildren.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 10 A.M. Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at Robstown Memorial Park Cemetery. Burial will follow.

Joyce Marie Pilarczyk

Joyce Marie Pilarczyk, age 78, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Saturday, October 22, 2011. She was born July 26, 1933 in the Leona District of Nueces County, Texas to August Jasper Bartos and Kathryn Bartos.

She was a graduate of Orange Grove High School, member of St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in Orange Grove, Texas, Altar Society and the Ladies Auxiliary of V.F.W. Post 8920 in Orange Grove, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Peter John Pilarczyk and her stepfather, Howard Jones.

She is survived by a son, Paul (Connie) Pilarczyk of Robstown, Texas; brother, Bob (Rebecca) Bartos of Conway, Arkansas; granddaughter, Miranda Grace Pilarczyk, who she dearly loved.

Visitation will be on Monday, October 24, 2011 from 2:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Sawyer-George Funeral Home.

The Rosary will be recited on Monday, October 24, 2011 at 7:00 P.M. in the Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral Mass will be concelebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. Michael Howell and Rev. Msgr. Seamus McGowan as concelebrants.

Interment will be in the St. John of the Cross Catholic Cemetery.

Dee Worsham

Worsham, Dee

Dee Worsham, 76, of Sandia, Texas, went to be with the Lord on October 19, 2011 with her loving family at her side. She was born February 15, 1935 in Rosedale, Oklahoma to Martin Miller Yoakum and Ida Belle Jaye Yoakum. She was a great Christian lady and a member of River Hills Baptist Church. She was a life member of the Lagarto Club and a member of the Orange Grove Tuesday Study Club. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.

She is survived by her husband of over 60 years, John Worsham of Sandia, Texas; her children, Edward Worsham of Freer, Texas, Janice Worsham and Kathi Bradley both of Houston, Texas, Karen Brown of Park City, Utah and Tony Worsham of Orange Grove, Texas; 15 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be conducted at 10 A.M. Monday, October 24, 2011 at River Hills Baptist Church with Brother Bill Simmons officiating.

In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make contributions to River Hills Baptist Church building fund or the American Cancer Society.

Verlon Stephens Walker

Verlon Stephens Walker, 76, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away Sunday, October 16, 2011. She was born April 24, 1935 in Perry, Florida to Harley Hiram and Penny Sue Malcom Stephens. She was a homemaker and a lifelong member of Mayfield Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, and will be missed by all of her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Kenneth Ray Klar.

She is survived by her daughter, Susie Klar (Calvin Glen) Alldredge of Houston, Texas; her son, Robert (Jeri) Niksich of Corpus Christi, Texas; eight grandchildren, Christina, Charlie, Jennifer, Aimee, Justin, Albert, Mariah and Ric; 7 great grandchildren; numerous brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from Noon until service time on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted at 4 P.M. Thursday, October 20, 2011 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. Services will conclude at the funeral home.
