Henry O. Albers (Hank)

Henry O. Albers (Hank), born June 9,1929, died on October 12, 2011.

He is survived by his wife Erdmute, daughter Martina Lee (Dennis) of Hampton, Virginia, and four grandsons, Ethan (Shannon), Simon, Colin (Katie) and Dennis Michael (Ana Maria).

He will be missed by his family and many friends.

Interment will be in Hampton, Virginia at a later date.

Natalie Annie Castro Drew

Drew, Natalie

Natalie Annie Castro Drew, 50, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away Friday, October 7, 2011. She was born March 21, 2011 in Chicago, Illinois to Ignacio and Natalia Rodriguez Castro.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Natalia Rodriguez, her brother, Mauro Castro and her sister, Ivone Martinez.

She is survived by her husband, James Drew; her daughters, Cecilia Gonzalez and April Calderon Perez; her son, Christopher Calderon all of Corpus Christi, Texas; her father, Ignacio Castro of California; her sisters, Margarito Castro and Dorie Guerrero both of Corpus Christi, Texas; her brother, Joe Castro of Houston, Texas; 10 grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. Thursday, October 13, 2011 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 A.M. Friday, October 14, 2011 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow in Memory Gardens

Richard Blumberg

Blumberg, Richard

Richard Blumberg, age 71, of Lagarto, Texas, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2011. He was a loving husband, a wonderful dad, a caring grandfather, great grandfather and a very much loved friend. Richard was born on July 10, 1940 in Robstown, Texas to Rudolph and Georgia Blumberg. He served his country in the United States Navy, was a Radioman and Morse Code Operator stationed on Midway Island. He was a heavy equipment owner-operator for Blumberg Backhoe Service and was known as “The Dirtman”. He was a great musician and loved playing the guitar, steel guitar and singing.

He played with several stars in his lifetime including Loretta Lynn, Charlie Pride, Tammy Wynette, Freddy Fender, Frenchy Burke and Roy Clark just to name a few. He was a member of St. Francis Assisi Catholic Church, Lagarto Community Church, Knights of Columbus, Eagles Lodge and the Moose Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his father, Rudolph, sister, Mary Moran, son, Tony Ware and grandson, Mitchell Price.

He is survived by his mother, Georgia of Corpus Christi, Texas; his wife of 39 years, Irene; his son; Frank (Betsy) Blumberg; his daughters, Donna (Joe) Ware, Debbie Ware (Billy) Thomas; his sister, Rita DeShields; his brothers, Jimmy (Olivia) Blumberg, Gary (Elaine) Blumberg; George (Sandy) Blumberg; his grandchildren, Bryan (Katherine) Campbell, Jenna Campbell, Brandon (Whitney) Price, Nicole (Trent) Socha, Shane (Joe) Price, Justin (Gracie) Thomas, Billy (Bull) Thomas, Brittany Thomas; his great grandchildren, Jonathan, Bailee, Emilee Campbell; Kyle, Justine, Ashton, Raelynn Thomas; Averi Socha, Caden Price, Isaiah, Taylor, Paul and Cole Spencer; several nieces and nephews.

He was a great inspiration to all that knew him and will be greatly missed.

Visitation and viewing will be on Saturday, October 8, 2011 from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.

The Rosary will be recited at 11:00 A.M. followed by the Celebration of the Funeral Mass at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. Michael Howell as celebrant.

Burial will follow at Robstown Memorial Park

Pallbearers will be Gary Blumberg, George Blumberg, Billy Thomas, Joe Longoria, Bobby Waldrop and Dave Hellman.

Honorary Pallbearers include all the great musicians that he enjoyed so much.

In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make contributions to the American Cancer Society.

Mary Adelle Morrow, age 89, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away October 5, 2011. She was born in Sandia, Texas on December 31, 1921 to John and Ollie Mae Carr.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Frank J. Hlavik, Jr., her daughter, Sharon Waters, her brothers, John Henry Carr and James Carter Carr and a sister, Martha Hlavik.

She is survived by sons, Daniel R. (Patricia) Hlavik of Chicago, Illinois, Anthony F. Hlavik and Kenneth D. Hlavik both of Corpus Christi, Texas; daughter, Dorothy Tardo of Sinton, Texas; son-in-law; David Waters of Ganado, Texas; brother, Ed Carr of Hitchcock, Texas; sisters, Paralee Zieger and Hazel (Bob) Coe both of Corpus Christi, Texas; sister-in-law, Georgia Carr of Corpus Christi, Texas; numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Sunday, October 9, 2011 from 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at Sawyer-George Funeral Home

The Rosary will be recited on Sunday, October 9, 2011 at 6:00 P.M. in the Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, October 10, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Peter, Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. Morgan Rowsome as celebrant.
