Lena Joyce Collins Walker

Lena Joyce Collins Walker went home to be with her heavenly father October 14, 2012. She was born December 17, 1939 in Corpus Christi, Texas to the late Melvin and Elva Collins. Lena received her R.N. degree from Daugherty School of Nursing in 1959. She worked in the office of Dr. Reno where she made many friends due to her gift of mercy. She was an elegant, beautiful woman of God who loved her family.

Family memories were created on vacations at the house on Lake Mathis and the Walker Ranch. She delighted in gardening and everything she touched turned beautiful. She planted the word of God in the heart of her family and reflected His love. Her years of prayers empowered the lives of all who came into her path.

Lena is survived by her husband of 52 years, Buddy Walker; one son, Bret Walker (Michele); daughters, Lori Walker and Stephanie McDaniel (Pat); grandchildren, Clint (Allison) Walker, Destinee Clawson (Bobby), Breanne Wauson (Chad), Ryan Walker, Wesley McDaniel, Sarah Walker and Nolan McDaniel; five great grandchildren, Ellie, Kayla, Olivia, Bo and Parker. Lena felt so grateful for each member of her family and counted them all the real joy of this life. She is cherished and will be deeply missed.

Visitation with the family present will be held from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 A.M. Thursday October 18, 2012 at Journey Church, IH37 at Callicoatte Road, Corpus Christi, Texas with Bro. Buddy Murphrey officiating.

Burial will follow in Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Kalei Lynn Todd

Kalei Lynn Todd, 65, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away Saturday, October 13, 2012. She was born December 8, 1946 in Fort Worth, Texas to Mack Kalei and Beverly Moore Taylor.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Beverly Taylor and her sister, Kulani Rozelle.

She is survived by her father, Mack Taylor of Minehead, England; one son, Taylor (Bridgett) Todd of Fort Worth, Texas; four daughters, Leilani Todd of Corpus Christi, Texas, Tonya (Jared) Garza of Robstown, Texas, Latauna Todd and Tracie Todd both of Corpus Christi, Texas; nine grandchildren, J. T., Connor, Kanoa, Bill, Keilyn, Jared, Jr., Tiffani, Paige and Emma.

Visitation with the family present will be from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M. Thursday, October 18, 2012 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 P.M. Friday, October 19, 2012 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will follow in Memory Gardens Mausoleum.

Annette Rickman Sanders

Annette Rickman Sanders, 74, of Sandia, Texas, passed away October 15, 2012.

She was born November 23, 1937 in Trinity County, Texas to Monroe and Ethel Rickman.

Mrs. Sanders was a member of River Hills Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Douglas Rickman and her son David Wayne Sanders.

Annette is survived by her husband, Edward Sanders of Sandia, Texas; son, Jeffrey (Diane) Sanders of Robstown, Texas; sister, Evelyn Smith of New Braunfels, Texas; grandchildren, Alan David Sanders, Christopher Lee Sanders and Matthew Austin Sanders.

Visitation with the family present will be on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Sawyer-George Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at the River Hills Baptist Church with Bro. Bill Simmons and Dr. Maurice Smith officiating.

Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery.

Betty Louise Crofton

Betty Louise Crofton 79, of Sandia, Texas passed away October 10, 2012.

She was born March 16, 1933 in Donna, Texas to Douglas and Rosalee Ryherd.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Ricky Barnett and Manuel Castillo and her husband, Pete Crofton.

Mrs. Crofton is survived by her sons, Pat (Kellie) Barnett, Steven Castillo; step-daughter, Ollie (Don) Kramer; sisters, Nadine Moore and Mae Marie Hoff; brother, Ellis Ryherd; grandchildren, Patrick Barnett, Brittany Barnett, Daniel Castillo, Christi (David) Taylor, Josh Castillo, Steven (Janice) Castillo, Jr., Preslie Barnett, Kennedy Barnett, Patrick Barnett, Darren Kramer, Jerry Kramer; great grandchildren, Corbin Castillo, Melody King, Caleb King, Nicholas King and Kelsey King.

Visitation with the family present will be on Thursday, October 11, 2012 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Sawyer-George Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, October 12, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. in the Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow in the Robstown Memorial Park

Mary Louise Clark

Mary Louise Clark, 77, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away Thursday, October 4, 2012. She was born November 5, 1934 in Hylton, Texas to James Allen Sturdivant, Sr. and Evalena Dunnam Sturdivant. She was a registered nurse and was a lay minister in the Episcopal Church. Mary Louise was a loving daughter, mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Stefen Allen Brown.

She is survived by her daughter, Judith Ann Brown (Bruce) of Corpus Christi, Texas; her brother, James Allen Sturdivant, Jr. (Sandy) of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her grandchildren, Joseph Hays Brown, Brittany Claire Peel-Brown and James Thomas Brown.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Rose Hill Memorial Park with The Rev. Bruce Wilson officiating. Burial will follow.
