Clayton Robert McCain, age 94, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away March 10, 2013. He was born March 23, 1918 in Falls County, Texas to Charles Robert and Willie Ethel McCain.

Mr. McCain served in the United States Navy and was a veteran of WW II.

He is preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Ben, C.B., Tommy and Weldon McCain; six sisters, Rosa Pratt, Marie Elliot, Zada Mae Fikes, Ruby Keech, Wiona Ganc and Geneva Cave.

He is survived by his wife, Erna McCain; sons, John (Susan) McCain and David (Robbie) McCain; daughters, Sharon Kay (Billy) Shaw, Barbara (Glenn) Thompson and Constance McCain; fourteen grandchildren and thirty-eight great grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Thursday, March 14, 2013 from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with the family present from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Sawyer-George Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, March 15, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at the Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John McCain and Rev. Pat Bullock officiating.

Interment will follow in the Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Henry John “Hank” Sykora

Henry John “Hank” Sykora, 80, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, March 7, 2012. He was born on July 11, 1932 in Waco, Texas to his parents Charlie Victor and Mary Theresa Sykora. He graduated from Midway High School in 1952. Henry served in the United States Air Force from July 1952 until July 1956 where he served and played with the military softball team. Following his service he was employed by SCM Corp. Henry and his family then moved to Corpus Christi, Texas in 1966 to continue working for SCM Corp. He then later worked for Central Office Equipment Company for 30 + years.

In San Antonio on January 18, 1957, Henry married Annamary (Blumer) Sykora of Alvin, Texas. They were married for 56 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Henry was a current member of the First Baptist Church of Odem

where he was a Deacon and worked with the RA’s. He was a past member of Calallen Baptist Church where he was a Deacon.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Frank Sykora and Joseph “Jody” Sykora.

Henry is survived by his loving wife Annamary and his 4 sons: Bryan (Robin), Mike (Jerilynn), Gary (Gloria), Glen (Maria). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren who loved to call him “Grumpy”. Henry will be greatly missed by his wife, family, friends and his devoted pet companion, Jordan.

Henry and his family greatly appreciate the help and support from family and friends, especially Ms. Lilly Ruth Payne.

Visitation will be on Monday, March 11, 2013 from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with the family present form 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Sawyer-George Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church in Odem, Texas.

Interment will follow in the Robstown Memorial Park Cemetery.

Doris Elizabeth Jones

Doris Elizabeth Jones, age 90, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away on Monday, March 4, 2013 in Longview, Texas.

She was born in Winnsboro, Louisiana on September 20, 1922 to Chesterfield and Mary Ellen Lambert.

Doris married Samuel Earnest Jones, Sr. on June 4, 1939 in Corpus Christi, Texas and they were married for sixty-five years.

Mrs. Jones was a homemaker and a member of Highway Village Baptist Church and Annaville Baptist Church.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Samuel “Preach” Jones, a sister, Marie Smith, a brother, Clarence Lambert and a grandson, Joseph Porter.

She is survived by two sisters, Mary Comalander and Ruth Mullins; three brothers, Chester Lambert, Sammy Lambert and Johnny Lambert; son, Samuel E. Jones, Jr. of Odgen, Utah; daughter and son-in-law, Linda Mae and Frank Gierer of Maryland Heights, Missouri; son and daughter-in-law, David and Jackie Jones of Longview, Texas; grandchildren, Charles Porter, Larry, Dallas and Bill Jones, Jennifer Orgeron, Ginger West, Katie Karlovich and Sarah Crettol; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at the Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jack Willoughby officiating.

Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Gene Edmond “Sonny” Eisenhauer

Eisenhauer, GeneGene Edmond “Sonny” Eisenhauer, 72, passed away March 3, 2013, in Corpus Christi, Texas, after a lengthy illness. He was born September 30, 1940 in Corpus Christi. He was a descendant of Paul and Anna Eisenhauer, Germans who immigrated to the Quihi settlement near Castroville and later to Bexar County in the 1840’s.

Gene graduated from Ray High School and attended Del Mar College in Corpus Christi where he was a member of Phi Theta Kappa honorary society. He graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a B.S. in Architectural Engineering. He was a rancher and proud supporter of Calallen High School FFA. He was in business with his father and brother, Eisenhauer Construction Company, known for building schools in the Corpus Christi area. He concluded his career as a Residential Home Inspector.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edmond Emil “Dutch” Eisenhauer and Wilma “Billie” Shafer Eisenhauer, and by his aunt, Aline Eisenhauer Carnes.

Gene is survived by his wife of 49 years, Anita Holt Eisenhauer; his two sons, William Edmond Eisenhauer (wife, Karen) of Yakima, Washington and George Edward Eisenhauer (wife, Ana) of Houston, Texas; and his grandchildren, David, Rachel, Isabella and Louise Eisenhauer. He is also survived by his brother, Dwight Emil Eisenhauer (wife, Diann) of Corpus Christi, Texas; his sister-in-law, Patricia Eisenhauer of Corpus Christi, Texas; his uncle, Joe Carnes, Jr. (wife, Jean) of Cypress, Texas; his niece, Catherine Eisenhauer Montgomery (husband, Michael) of Houston, Texas and his nephew, Thomas Emil Eisenhauer (wife, Kori Bernards) of Los Angeles, California.

Visitation will be from 10 A.M. until 7 P.M. with the family present from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M. Friday, March 8, 2013 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home, 12497 Leopard Street, Corpus Christi, Texas.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, March 9, 2013 at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 13026 Leopard Street, Corpus Christi, Texas with The Rev. Patrick Soule officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:30 P.M. Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Sunset Memorial Park, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church or  your favorite charity.
