Harold W. Martin

Harold W. Martin, 87, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2013 at his home after a long illness. He was born June 19, 1926 in Roanoke, Texas to Columbus and Mary Alice Fawkes Martin. Mr. Martin was a U.S. Marine veteran having served during WWII. He had worked as a Game Warden and Harbor Master.

He is survived by his son, Mike (Kathy) Martin of Corpus Christi, Texas; three granddaughters; 6 great grandchildren; three brothers, Johnny (Melva Joyce) Martin and Bobby (Carol) Martin of Possum Kingdom Lake, Texas, Fred (Carol Sue) Martin of Joshua, Texas; one sister, Suzie Boyd of Lake Whitney, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be conducted at 12 Noon Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Matagorda Harbor, Texas.

Louise Tajchman Iwanski

Louise Tajchman Iwanski, 92, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away Saturday, August 24, 2013 after a short illness. She was born on January 8, 1921 in Shiner, Texas to John and Lena Riess.

Louise’s love of baking (and eating) Kolaches inspired her and her first husband, Joe Tajchman, to open Joe’s Country Bakery in Robstown, Texas. They operated this business for ten years. She was an active member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church and St. Ann Altar Society for more than 59 years. She was also a member of KJZT and the Czech Heritage Society.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Joe Tajchman, her second husband, Raymond Iwanski and her daughter, Pauline Tajchman Mueck.

She is survived by her children, Patricia (Arlon) Zamzow, Janet (James) Heine, Jerry (Mary Helen) Tajchman, Georgia Foster, Mary Louise (Jimmie) Wilson and Fred Tajchman; 21 grandchldren; 30 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren: one sister, Lilly Adams; numerous nieces and nephews; and three wonderful step-children, Frank Iwanski, Andy Iwanski and Margie Iwanski.

Visitation will be from 3 P.M. until 7 P.M. with the Rosary to be recited at 7 P.M. Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 A..M. Friday, August 30, 2013 at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Robstown with Rev. Gerard Sheehan as celebrant. Burial will follow in Seaside Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Robert Heine, Casey Zamzow, Brian Tajchman, Joseph Foster, Trevor Groom and Clint Mueck.

Honorary pallbearers will be Walter Byerley, Chris Zamzow, Michael Tajchman, Craig Tajchman and Jeffrey Foster.

Ottis “Danny” Hennigan

Ottis “Danny” Hennigan, 86 passed away on August 24, 2013.

He was born February 26, 1927 in Merryville, Louisiana. He was employed by Koch Refinery for 36 years before his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Noah and LeLa White Hennigan, a son, Robert Michael Hennigan and a grandson, Aaron Scott Hennigan.

Ottis is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Marjorie June Hennigan; daughter, Virgina (Robert) Fischer of Tampa, Florida; sons, Blaine (Janet) Hennigan of Caldwell, Texas, Danny (Brenda) Hennigan of Lake Charles, Louisiana; grandchildren, Mark (Angela) Van Nortwick, Wendy (Steve) Davis, Clay (Tessa) Hennigan, Lori Hennigan, Kenny (Joy) Hennigan, Jennifer Hennigan; great grandchildren, Ryan Van Nortwick, Aubrey Van Nortwick, Austin Davis, Garrett Davis, Preston Hennigan and Emma Hennigan.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Sawyer-George Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at 12:30 P.M. at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bevans Welder officiating.

Interment will follow at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.

Jess Willard Lawrence, Sr.,

Jess Willard Lawrence, Sr., went to be with the Lord and his loving wife early afternoon on Thursday, August 22, 2013. He was ninety seven years and two months old and was born on June 11, 1916 in Stephens County, Texas.

Jess was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Frances Lawrence.

He is survived by one sister, Lorraine Barrett of San Angelo, Texas; one daughter, Joan Coombes (Charles Coombes) of Corpus Christi, Texas; two sons, Jess Willard Lawrence, Jr. (Charlotte Lawrence) of Ingleside on the Bay, Texas and Keith Lawrence of Corpus Christi, Texas; eight grandchildren, Troy Lawrence of Houston, Texas, Melissa Taylor of Corpus Christi, Texas, Jolynn Coombes of College Station, Texas, Bryan Coombes of Medina, Texas, Carol McFall of Port Lavaca, Texas, Kate Howard of Austin, Texas, Colby Lawrence of Corpus Christi, Texas and Kenda Newberry of Killeen, Texas; eleven great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; several nieces and nephews and innumerable friends.

Jess retired after working for Sun Oil Company at the Suntide Refinery for twenty-seven years. He was an avid fisherman and family man that was known by many and loved by all that knew him. A man of few words, he let his character and life style speak for him. He was a cowboy on the Green Ranch in Albany, Texas, rough neck in South Texas and worked for the state until they found out he was just sixteen years old.

Daddy will be missed by all and admired for the man he is. We love you Daddy, enjoy your new home.

Visitation with the family present will be from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M. Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 P.M. Sunday, August 25, 2013 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mark Miller officiating.

Graveside services with Masonic Rites will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Monday, August 26, 2013 at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

David Nathanial Moore

David Nathanial Moore 25, passed away on August, 17, 2013.

David graduated from Tuloso Midway High School in 2006. David earned the rank of Eagle Scout through Boy Scout Troop 18. He was an avid reader, he enjoyed novels by Anne McCaffery, Brian Jacques, T.A. Barron and Christopher Paolini.

David was attending Del Mar College studying Business with the goal of moving into a management position at Stripes were he was employed.

David was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Oscar C. and Evelyn L. Moore.

David is survived by his parents, Olan C. and Judith E. Moore; sisters, Jessica Renee Moore of Arlington, Tx and Julie Anne Moore of Corpus Christi, TX; maternal grandparents, Tommy M. and Delores A. Bernsen of Robstown; numerous, aunts, uncles and cousins.
