Richard David Medrano was born May 12, 1944.

He passed away August 17, 2013 after a long and valiant battle with multiple myeloma cancer, as a result of Agent Orange Exposure in Vietnam.

Rich was born in San Francisco, California. Shortly thereafter he moved to San Antonio, Texas and was raised there. He graduated from The Highlands High School in San Antonio and afterwards he enlisted into the United States Army.

He served in Vietnam and was a decorated soldier, earning The National Defense Service Medal, Sharpshooter Badge Rifle M-14, Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Vietnam Service Medal. After his military tour, he secured employment with HB Zachry Construction in San Antonio as their payroll clerk. He was employed there approximately 20 years. He then moved to Kingsville, Texas and was owner and sole proprietor of Stadium Auto Clean. He was an avid supporter of the Texas A & M at Kingsville Javelinas.

During that time, he worked for 10 years as Mary Lewis Kleberg’s (King Ranch) personal driver.

After moving to Corpus Christi, he enrolled in Coastal Bend College and graduated Magna Cum Laude with an associate’s degree in Computer Technology.

He then secured a night watchman’s position at The Breakers Condominium complex on North Beach. He retired from there after 10 years employment.

He will be deeply missed by his South Texas family, friends, and caretakers.

Memorial services will be conducted on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at the Chapel of Sawyer-George Funeral Home.

Nora Ferk Prochazka

Prochazka, NoraNora Ferk Prochazka, age 82, of Robstown, Texas passed away August 20, 2013.

She was born November 25, 1930 in Violet, Texas.

Nora was preceded in death by her husband, Anton and a son, Richard.

She is survived by children, Robert (Karen) Prochazka, Louis Prochazka, Carolyn (Ronald) Walter, Jerome (Barbara) Prochazka, Dale (Wanda) Prochazka, Chris Prochazka, Paul Prochazka; 16 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren; sister, Lavera Gregorcyk.

The Rosary will be recited on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at 7:00 P.M. in the Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, August 23, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with Rev. Bill Marquis as celebrant.

Interment will follow in the Robstown Memorial Park.

Patricia Just Dagerath

Patricia Just Dagerath, 71, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away Friday, August 16, 2013. She was born October 27, 1941 in Robstown, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Emil Dagerath, her parents, Herman and Annie Meuth Just, her sister, Ravenna Just and her brothers, David and Emmanuel Just.

She is survived by her sisters, Lucille Esparza of Corpus Christi, Texas, Marie Banta of San Antonio, Texas and Mathilda (Vernon) Simnacher of Robstown, Texas; her sisters-in-law, Lucy Minshew of Georgia and Gloria Just of San Antonio, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 10 A.M. Monday, August 19, 2013 at St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Violet, Texas.

Memorial services will be conducted at a later date.

Dorothy Arlene Carpenter, born August 28, 1924 in Glendo, Wyoming passed away August 7, 2013 at the age of 88.

She was a greeter and member of First Baptist Church in Odem, Texas and had been employed for ten years in the food service at Tuloso-Midway Independent School District.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Art and Myrtle Haggerty, brother, Don and sister, Thelma, husband, Emmett Lee Carpenter and grandson, Shane Carpenter.  

She is survived by sons, Emmett “Buddy” D. Carpenter (Larue), Danny Lee Carpenter (Carolyn), and Troy Max Carpenter (Kathy), and daughters, Debra Lynn Ashby (Perry), Vivian Scott Carpenter (Greg), and Tammie Lee Ciolfi (Dave), sisters, Faye Haggerty and Maxine Robbins, 22 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5:30 P.M. until 9 P.M. Friday, August 9, 2013 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 P.M. Saturday, August 10, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Odem, Texas with Bro. Willis Moore officiating.  Burial will follow in Robstown Memorial Park.

Bob stepped into eternity to be with his lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday August 6th, 2013 at his home in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Bob was born in Canton, Georgia to Arthur and Winnie Chatham Peardon on January 22, 1933.

Bob was an active member of Journey Church and loved the Lord and his family. Bob spent most of his life as a carpenter and loved working with his hands. When he was not working you could find Bob trying to find somehow to get out of the Honey do’s and go hunting or fishing. Bob was a Man’s Man.

Bob was a veteran and Loved God and this country.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Bob is survived by his wife of 29 years Joyce Crook Peardon. Bob and Joyce were married on January 3rd, 1984 in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Bob is survived by 3 brothers and 1 sister, 4 sons and 2 daughters, 10 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren whom he dearly loved and was his life.
