Sandra Marie Moulder Montiel

Sandra Marie Moulder Montiel, age 67, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away October 19, 2013 after a lengthy illness.

She was born in Three Rivers, Texas on December 19, 1945 to E.D. and Daisy Moulder.

She was an Office Manager with Service Transport and was an avid collector of Coca-Cola memorabilia.

She was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her husband, Daniel Montiel; three daughters, Lisa Naranjo, Nanette Garza, Holly Walton; brother, Dennis Moulder; sisters, Susan Harris, Bobby Curts and numerous grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Sawyer-George Funeral Home.

Shirley Marie Knetsch Dennis

Shirley Marie Knetsch Dennis is in God’s care as of Monday, October 14, 2013. Mom lost her battle with malignant melanoma at the age of 64.

Originally from La Pryor Texas, but lived and worked the last 30 years among friends in the farming community of Agua Dulce, Texas at A.D. Grain Co..

She is survived by her 3 children, Lawrence “Scooter” Dennis, Courtney Montgomery, & Chase Knetsch; 3 grandchildren, Dustin & Cole Dennis and D’Laine Montgomery; her parents, Edwin & Orene Knetsch and six siblings, Patsy Coyner, Kathy Young, Edwin Knetsch Jr., Robert Knetsch, Paul Ray Knetsch, & Marsha Jean Sparks; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Sunday, October 20, 2013 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Sawyer-George Funeral Home.

Graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 21, 2013 at Evergreen Cemetery in Skidmore, Texas with Pastor Dale Brynestad and Pastor Allen Echert officiating.

Armando H. Vasquez, Jr.

Armando H. Vasquez, Jr., age 77, of Corpus Christi, Texas was welcomed into God’s Kingdom on October 15, 2013. He was born in Robstown, Texas on April 7, 1936 to Armando T., Sr. and Aurelia Hernandez Vasquez.

Armando worked for forty-five years for the Nueces County Engineering Department, which was later, the Public Works Department as a Roads Superintendent. He loved to garden and spending quality time with his family.

Mr. Vasquez was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Alice Avalos. He is survived by his wife, Oudlia Vasquez; children, Patsy (Richard) Villareal, Mando (Stephanie) Vasquez, III, Bobby (Laura) Vasquez, Sandy Vidal; brothers and sisters, Sara (Raul) Zuniga, Aurora (Arturo) Lopez, Amador (Sylvia) Vasquez, Amelia (Nick) Adamez, Arturo (Elida) Vasquez, Adolfo (Janie) Vasquez, Bessie Vasquez; grandchildren, Michele Serna, Jennifer Rodriguez, Armando Vasquez, IV, Leslie Vasquez, Mason Vasquez, Robert Vasquez, II, A.J. Vidal, Aaron Vidal; great grandchildren, Michael Serna, Matthew Serna, Brandon Serna, Jackie Rodriguez, Joey Rodriguez.

A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at 7:00 P.M. at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 18, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Peter, Prince of the Apostle’s Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. Seamus McGowen as celebrant.

Entombment will follow at a later date at the Memorial Park Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the America Diabetes Association.

Nelson Joe Formagus

Nelson Joe Formagus, 62, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2013. He was born on October 8, 1951 in Port Arthur, Texas to Joe and Alice Formagus. Nelson graduated from high school at Thomas Jefferson High School, class of 1970 and graduated from college at Stephen F. Austin University, class of 1975. Nelson spent most of his career within the insurance industry, caring for his clients, in Port Arthur and Houston. Nelson was very active in community service during his time in Port Arthur, including involvement with CavOilcade, Sertoma, Lions Club and the YMCA. Nelson always wanted the people around him to be smiling and having fun. His involvement in such community service was to make this happen as much as possible. He moved to Corpus Christi, Texas in 2002.

In his free time Nelson enjoyed playing golf, watching University of Texas Longhorn football, cooking his famous spaghetti sauce with meatballs, and relaxing pool side. However, Nelson most enjoyed spending time with family and friends while “having a ball”.

He is survived by his son, Brian (Jennifer) Formagus of Springfield, Virginia; his daughter Laura (Curt) Jordan of Dumfries, Virginia; his grandchildren Emma and Nathan of Springfield, Virginia and MacKenzie of Dumfries, Virginia; his sister Betty (Joe) Pfeiler of Robstown, Texas; and many nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 11, 2013 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home (sawyergeorgefuneralhome.com) in Corpus Christi from 12:30PM to 2PM, with a funeral service directly following. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. A reception for family and friends will follow the interment.

Jeffrey Russell Koellman

Jeffrey Russell Koellman, 56, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away October 5, 2013. He was born June 17, 1957 in New Kensington, Pa. to Bill and Margaret Koellman. The family moved to Houston, Texas in 1969, where he graduated from Spring Woods High School in 1975 and attended college. Jeff and Amy were married in 1978 and moved to Corpus Christi in 1981. He was employed as a commercial and residential building designer for over 30 years.

Jeff is survived by his wife of 35 years, Amy; daughter, Amanda; son, Russell; mother, Margaret; brother, C.W.; numerous family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. at Grace United Methodist Church, 14521 Northwest Boulevard, Corpus Christi, Texas 78410, followed by a Memorial Service at the Church at 3:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Grace United Methodist Church benevolence fund.
