Kenneth Ray Fitzgerald

Kenneth Ray Fitzgerald, age 74, passed away December 29, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on October 9, 1939, the youngest of eleven children, to Gladys and William Fitzgerald in Burr, Texas.

Before joining the Air Force at the age of 17, he married the love of his life Patsy Talley and was married for fifty-six years.

Being the hard working man that he was, he was employed by Texas Energy until his passing. His illness came upon him quickly and he was gone in an instant. He will be missed everyday by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy and his children, Craig (Debra), Jay (Velvet), Vicki (Larry) and Keith (Kim). He had and loved thirteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Memorial Services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, January 3, 2014 at Grace United Methodist Church, 14521 Northwest Blvd., Corpus Christi, Texas 78410.

Interment will be in the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery at a later date.

Marie Romano Terrell

Our precious mother Marie Romano Terrell, 93, of Corpus Christi, Texas began her new life in Heaven on December 29, 2013. She was surrounded by her family. Marie was born in New York City on May 5, 1920 and grew up in Brooklyn, New York. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Carl Terrell, her Parents Charles and Mamie Romano, Brothers James and Ralph Romano, Sister Frances Urso, Daughter in-law Becky Terrell, and Great Grandson Sethen Waid. She is survived by her seven children, Charles Terrell of Corpus Christi, Mary Ann (Lee) Taylor of North Richland Hills, Linda (Harry) Goodridge of Robstown, Kathy (Albert) Waid of Robstown, Mamie (John) Nicely of Corpus Christi, Frances Smith of Corpus Christi, Ramona Howard of San Antonio, fifteen Grandchildren, twenty-three Great Grandchildren, and one Great, Great Grandchild. Marie was known by many as the little Italian lady with the high heels. She was a devoted Mother that had a deep faith in God and shared that faith and love with everyone whom she met. Though there are no words to describe how much she will be missed, there is comfort in knowing that we will be together again one day.

Visitation will be at Sawyer-George Funeral Home from 4:00-7:00 P.M. Friday, January 3, 2014 with the Rosary beginning recited at 7:00 P.M.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church at 1302 Lantana Street, Corpus Christi, TX.

Burial immediately following at Rose Hill Memorial Park.

Dorothy Schroeder Bockholt

Dorothy Schroeder Bockholt, 93, of Robstown, Texas passed away Sunday, December 29, 2013. She was born November 13, 1920 in Windthorst, Texas to William and Frances Wimmer Schroeder. She was a homemaker and helped her husband farm. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and the altar society in Violet, Texas. She was also a member of a women’s quilting circle.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. Bockholt, six brothers and five sisters.

She is survived by her daughters, Mary Bockholt Truesdale and her husband Gregg of Robstown, and Goretta Bockholt O’Daniel of Corpus Christi, Texas; her grandchildren, Dwayne (Corina) Truesdale of Robstown, Texas, Heather Truesdale (Matthew) Schomburg of Katy, Texas, Robert O’Daniel, Mikael O’Daniel, and Brittainy O’Daniel (John) Johnson all of Corpus Christi, Texas; her great grandchildren, Nicole and Megan Edwards, Jake Truesdale, Tyler, Maverick, Miller and Riggs Schomburg, Michelle and David Johnson; a great great grandchild, Michael Edwards.

Visitation will be from 10 A.M. until 4 P.M. Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home.

The Rosary will be recited at 7 P.M. Thursday, January 2, 2014 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Violet, Texas.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 A.M. Friday, January 3, 2014 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Violet, Texas with Rev Msgr. Celestine Murray as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Violet, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Gregg Truesdale, Dwayne Truesdale, Jake Truesdale, Mikael O’Daniel, Joe Bockholt and Danny Schroeder.

Honorary pallbearers will be Heather Schomburg, Brittainy Johnson, Nicole Edwards, Megan Edwards and Michelle Johnson.

The family would especially like to thank Lilly Flores and her staff, Diane and Yolanda, for their special love and care of Mrs. Bockholt during her illness.

Marty Gene Mills

Marty Gene Mills, son of Willie John Alvin Mills and Annie James Mills, brother of Sandra Joan Adams, born in Anderson County South Carolina, May 19, 1944, passed away in Corpus Christi, Texas on December 27, 2013.

Marty was a graduate of Wren High School in Anderson County South Carolina. He was a Vietnam Veteran of the USAF, a student of Florida Tech and the University of Georgia, a committed husband, father, and friend, an accomplished musician, and a devoted student to his work in the computer industry.

Surviving family include: wife Virginia C. Mills; daughter Jennifer A. Schneider, her husband Douglas and their three sons Steven, Brandon, and Colten; son Marty Gene Mills II, his wife Angela and their 3 children Matthew, Michelle, and Mason; as well as extended family.

Visitation with the family will be on Thursday, January 2, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Sawyer-George Funeral Home, 12497 Leopard St., Corpus Christi, Texas 78410.

Graveside funeral services with full military honors will be conducted on Friday, January 3, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.

Luis Gutierrez, Jr.

Luis Gutierrez, Jr., 58, met his Lord and Savior on December 25, 2013. He was an awesome husband, father and grandfather. He will be tremendously missed by all those who knew him. He served in the United States Army for 2 terms and always considered himself to be a soldier for our country. His favorite saying was “Old soldiers never die they just fade away.” He is survived by his devoted wife, Miriam Gutierrez; one son, Louis Anthony (Regina) Gutierrez; one daughter, Michelle (Paul) Cantu; 3 grandchildren, Nickolas, Jonah & Jeremiah; two sisters, Debra Lucio and Sandra Gutierrez; his Mother in Law, Sarah M. Avila; and lots of family & friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Luis Gutierrez, Sr., his mother, Eva Gutierrez, and his Father in Law, Victor F. Avila.

Visitation will be at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, December 29th, 2013 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, December 30th, 2013 at St. Peter, Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church with Father Joseph Olikkara as celebrant.

Graveside services with full military honors will follow at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
