Jesse Austin Williams, II

Williams II, Jesse A

Jesse Austin Williams, II, 34, passed away on December 29, 2014. He was born on September 10, 1980 in Anaheim, California to Jesse Austin Williams, I, and Cynthia Louise Mendez.

Jesse was preceded in death by his grandfather, Daniel Munoz Mendez; uncle, Jim Williams, Sr.; aunt, Catherine Marie Clifford.

Jesse is survived by his wife, April; two daughters, Hazel and Hailey; father, Jesse Austin Williams I; mother, Cynthia Louise Mendez; brothers, Michael and Anthony; father and mother-in-law, Joe and Judy Skoruppa, along with many extended family and friends.

Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with the family present from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, January 2, 2015 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home.

Rosary will be recited at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.

Celebration of life will be at 11:00 A.M. following the rosary recital.

Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Robstown, Texas.

Susan Moulder Harris

Susan Moulder Harris, 69, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away Sunday, December 28, 2014 in a local hospital.  She was born December 19, 1945 in Three Rivers, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, E. D. and Daisy Fuson Moulder; her husband, David Harris; and her sister, Sandra Montiel.

She is survived by her daughter, Cena McLatchy; her sister, Bobby Curts; her brother, Dennis Moulder; her grandchildren, Mikayla and Mackenzie McLatchy; several nieces and nephews.

Susan requested that there be no funeral services.

In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make contributions to the Disabled American Veterans or to any organization that helps animals.

Homer Alfred Slayton

Slayton, Homer A.

Homer Alfred Slayton, 94, of Corpus Christi, Texas, peacefully passed away Saturday, December 20, 2014.  He was born October 30, 1920 in Sinton, Texas, and grew up in the Sodville area of San Patricio, County and attended Sodville Baptist Church where he made his profession of faith in Jesus Christ.  Homer graduated fromTaft High School in 1939 and then attended Southwest Texas University on a basketball scholarship.  In 1942 he joined the U. S. Army Air Corps and served as a flight officer until honorably discharged in December, 1945.  Homer worked until his retirement at the Main Post Office and farmed in Corpus Christi and Taft.  He was a member of Second Baptist Church on Furman Avenue for 20 years and then moved to the Annaville area where he became an active member for 47 years at Tuloso-Midway Baptist Church, serving as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Choir Member and Church Trustee.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of over 69 years, Loraine Wyatt Slayton, his parents, Ernest Olender Slayton and Carrie Orlean Slayton and his siblings, W. J., Grover, Mamie,  Roy and Ray.

He is survived by his daughters, Sharon Lynn (Seldon) Jennings of Corpus Christi, Texas and Debra Jean (Kenneth) Bull of Lake Jackson, Texas; his brother, Warren Slayton of Alice, Texas; his grandchildren, Jason Edward Leffingwell, Stacy Lynn (Andrew) Simmons, David Matthew Barber, Rachel Elizabeth (Ben) Birdwell and Ashlyn Rebekah (Joe) Ramirez; great grandchildren, Madison Townsend, Gaige and Rory Simmons, Hannah and Abigail Birdwell, Joseph, Jerald and Jennifer Ramirez and other extended family and friends all of whom he loved dearly.

Visitation will be from 2 P.M. until 4 P.M. Sunday, December 28, 2014 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 A.M. Monday, December 29, 2014 at Tuloso-Midway Baptist Church with Rev. John McAlister officiating.  Burial will be at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery following the services.

Floy Lee Hoelscher

Hoelscher, Floy

Floy Lee Hoelscher completed her journey here on Earth with Rose Lee by her side, on Sunday, December 14, 2014, at the age of 83.

She was born in Violet, Texas, February 17, 1931.

She retired after working 40 years for PPG and Memorial Medical Center.  During that time, she served in the Navy with the ASW unit #703 in Dallas, Texas for 10 years.  After retiring, she volunteered for Annaville Fire Department running a brush truck, fighting fires and having fun.  Some of her favorite past times were archaeology, group traveling and gardening.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Herbert J. and Regina; her sisters, Leona, Dorothy and Tina; and her brothers, Walter, Jerome, William and Francis.

She is survived by her twin sister, Rose Lee; her sisters, Geri (John) and Mary Louise; and her brothers, Raymond (Judi), Richard and Edgar; and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

The holy rosary will be recited at 7 P.M. Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel, 12497 Leopard Street, Corpus Christi, Texas.

The funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 A.M. Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 3918 County Road 61, Robstown, Texas (Violet, Texas).

Burial will follow the mass at St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Violet, Texas.

Faye Marie Moser

Faye Marie Moser, age 63 passed away December 8, 2014.  She was born November 21, 1951 in Grayson County, Virginia to Muncie William and Lois Marie Hampton.

She was preceded in death by her father, Muncie William Hampton and is survived by her husband, John R. Moser; daughter, Dreama (Arnold) Greene; son, William Moser; three grandchildren; one step-grandchild; Mother, Lois Marie Carico; sisters, Sandra (David) Moser, Pamela (Gregory) Carico; brothers, Bradley Hampton, Kenneth Hampton, Terry (Debbie) Hampton, Jeff (Linda) Hampton; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at the Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will be on Pine Mountain in Virginia.
