Francile Rabalais

Francile Rabalais, 71, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2015.  She was born May 29, 1943 in Marianna, Arkansas to Buford Granville Young and Nettie Louise Creel Young.  She was the executive secretary for Texas Fuel and Asphalt Company.

She is survived by her husband, Scotty Rabalais; her daughter, Kathy (Bobby) Hill and their children, Scott and Kyle; her son, Mike Rabalais and his children, Alex Rabalais, Kolton Hughes and Maggie May Rabalais; her sisters, Linda Stafford, Charlette  Gilbreth and Julie Hall.

Visitation will be from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M. Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 A.M. Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in Robstown Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Scott Hill, Kyle Hill, Randy Larson, Johnie Goodman, Chance Sharpe and Weston Sharpe.

Cezar L. Lopez

Lopez, Cezar

Cezar L. Lopez, 81, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2015.  He was born March 28, 1934 in Calallen, Texas.  Mr. Lopez was a member of St. Mary Mission Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus at St. Peter, Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church.  He retired after 38 years from the Texas Department of Transportation as a maintenance supervisor.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Donato H. and San Juana Luera Lopez; his wife, Nila Lopez; his siblings, Elena Ceballos, Antonio Lopez, Luis Lopez, Alvino Lopez, Cuberto Lopez, Mauro Lopez, Ramiro Lopez, Concepcion Zavala and Robert Ceballos.

He is survived by his children, Sam Lopez (Diana), Christi Perales (Johnny), Mark Lopez, Monica Flores (Robert), Ron Lopez, Sonya Lopez-Sosa (Greg Sosa) and Max Lopez (Margaret); two sisters, Guadalupe Castillo and Diamantina Maldonado; two brothers, Tomas Lopez and Alberto Lopez; 14 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

The Rosary will be recited at 7 P.M. Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 P.M. Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at St. Peter, Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church with Rev. Emilio Jimenez as celebrant.  Burial will follow in Robstown Memorial Park.

Everett Alvin Murff

Everett Alvin Murff, a  long time area farmer of Tynan, Texas passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2015.  Prior to farming he owned and operated an International Harvester Farm Equipment store in Mathis, Texas.  He also served his country in WWII and the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his wife, Mary of 55 years.  He is also survived by his daughter, Helen Haverlah and her husband James, of  Bee County, Texas.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 29, 2015 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at

Sawyer-George Funeral in Annaville, Texas.

Funeral Services will be at River Hills Baptist Church in Calallen, Texas at 1:30 P.M. Monday, March 30, 2015 with Brother Jody Simmons officiating.

Marian Caroline Jauer Shenk

Marian Caroline Jauer Shenk, 92, of Orange Grove, Texas, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2015 in Robstown, Texas.  She was born September 4, 1922 in Karnes City, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, A. E. “Tony” Shenk; her parents, Monroe Otto Jauer and Callie Marie Appling Jauer; her siblings, Rose Marie Blair, Wilma Faye Dennis and Monroe Otto Jauer, Jr.; and her daughter, Sandra Kaye Wilson.

She is survived by her son, A. E. “Eddie” Shenk, Jr. and his wife, Zula; her siblings, Clyde David Jauer, Velma Maurine Worden, Margaret Pauline Neal, Francis Shirley Hurley, and Robert Wayne “Buddy” Jauer; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from  5 P.M. until 7 P.M. Friday, March 27, 2015 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted at 9 A.M. Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jody Simmons officiating.  Burial will follow in Robstown Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Mark Jones, Larry Jauer, Monte Jauer, Randy Jauer, Rick Jauer and Conner Steward.

In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make contributions to River Hills Baptist Church or to their favorite charity.

W.E. “Eddie” Brinkman Sr

W.E. “Eddie” Brinkman Sr., age 84, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family, on March 23, 2015 in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Eddie was born in Eldorado, Oklahoma to Frederick William Brinkman and Essie Irene Cowling. Growing up on a dusty farm in Oklahoma he learned the value of hard work and determination.  It served him well in life as he went on to build his own electrical contracting business.  He was well respected and instrumental in helping others in his profession.  After retirement, he turned his energy and skills into property renovation.   Eddie’s love of tinkering continued; always starting new projects, spending endless hours in his garden, and tending to his cats, dogs, and elaborate fish pond.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 49 years, Peggy Brinkman; daughter, Melissa James; son, James Brinkman; granddaughter, Sara Marshall; grandson, Dylan Moulder; two sisters, Mae Watts, Ophelia Street; and one brother, Elmo Brinkman.

Left to cherish his memory are his children:  Sheri (Marc) Marshall, Elizabeth (Steve) Holder, Sandra (Glen) Williams, Justin (Kelli) Moulder, Trina (Frank) DiPerna, Sally Brinkman, Jeff (Melaine) Moulder, and William Edward (Dianna) Brinkman Jr.; twenty grandchildren; six great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on March 26, 2015 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Sawyer-George Funeral Home.  Graveside  services will be conducted on March 27, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Memory Gardens.
