She was born Myrna Eileen Gunnels on December 21, 1943 in Sweetwater, Texas to Claudene Faye and Wilborn E. Gunnels.  Myrna graduated from Roy Miller High School in 1962 where she had a fun-filled 4 years as cheerleader captain and class favorite.  She married her high school sweetheart, James D. “Jimmy” Hunt, and they shared 54 years together.  Myrna was instrumental and a key component in the development of Kings Crossing Golf Course & Country Club where she moved into the Assistant General Manager position upon its opening and remained for many years.  In 1998 Myrna became the General Manager of the Corpus Christi Yacht Club where, during her 13 year tenure, she became mother, grandmother, confidant & friend to so many members and staff.  Members often had “Grandma Myrna or MyrMyr” entertain their children so the adults could enjoy their meal. In 2009 she became General Manager of River Hills Golf & Country Club before her retirement in 2011.  Myrna worshiped her Lord & Savior as a devoted member of Grace United Methodist Church where she so lovingly served on the Welcoming Committee and Mentoring Program.  The congregation of her church couldn’t wait to see her on Sunday mornings so each could receive their weekly hug.

Myrna was deeply loved and she forever changed all whose lives she touched because of her beautiful, graceful & nurturing spirit.
