Sandra “Sandy” Elizabeth Partridge (née Ware) passed away in Corpus Christi, TX on September 11, 2022. She was 83 years old.
Sandy was born in Corpus Christi on June 28, 1939 to Thomas Howard Ware, an employee of the Housing Authority, and Mabel Florence Ware, a schoolteacher at Sam Houston Elementary. Both precede her in death. She had two brothers, David and James Ware, who also precede her in death. The Ware family traces its roots back to the small farming and ranching community of Sunshine which encompassed the intersection of modern Rodd Field and Wooldridge Roads, and about which Mabel wrote a book titled I Remember Sunshine.
Growing up, Sandy attended Wynn Seale JHS and Ray High School. She married her High School boyfriend, Clarence Davis and had a son, Wayne. Later she married Joe Ivison and had two daughters, Laura and Lisa. She also lived in California, Arkansas and Ohio. She loved to travel with her husband Joe and visited many diﬀerent countries. She ﬁnally resettled in Corpus to be near and care for her aging parents on their retirement property near the Nueces River. She had many pets and enjoyed caring for animals as well as attending church and reconnecting with her childhood friends.
Sandy is survived by two of her children, Wayne Davis (Patty) and Lisa Edwards (Dwight). She is preceded in death by her eldest daughter, Laura Darby.
Sandy is also survived by her husband, Thomas Partridge and her 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Sandy will be held at 1:00PM, Friday, September 30, 2022 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sunshine Cemetery in Corpus Christi, Texas.
