Alberto V. Martinez Jr, 64, of Corpus Christi, passed away on May 12, 2026.

He was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on November 11, 1961 to Leonor Villanueva Martinez and Alberto Hernandez Martinez. Albert graduated from Calallen High school in 1980.

He enjoyed fishing, kayaking, cooking, hanging out by the water, being with friends and family. Most of all he reveled in telling jokes and getting you to believe his wild stories and then asking you how you could possibly have believed him. Albert worked at Boat-N-Net when he was a kid. He drove an eighteen wheeler for Fisher Freight, KeHe, and L&I leased with ACME. His CB radio handle was Cisco Kid. He was a member of the Corpus Christi Off-Road/Beach Rescue.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alberto Hernandez Martinez. He is survived by his mother Leonor Villanueva Martinez and ex-wife Barbara Lopez Martinez. Albert is survived by the light of his life Dalia. Children: Albert David Martinez, Bridgette Nicole Rodriguez (Andy), Tina Monique Torres, and Amadeus Santana Martinez. He is also survived by four grandchildren. Siblings: Paula Childre (Jim), Carmen Lane (Paul), and Grace Guerra (Gilbert - Deceased). Nieces and nephews: Robert Cantu (Regan) and Erica Cantu, Edward J. Pritchard II, Jennie R. Lane and Joie L. Borczynski (Jeff), Rafael Diego Martinez Mayorga, Laura Martinez Mayorga and Angelica Martinez Marengo (Duncan). Albert is survived by his best friends since childhood Eddie Gonzalez and Raul Lopez.

Family and friends will remember Albert not only for his daring attitude, but also for his generosity, warmth, and his ability to make you feel like you were an important part of his adventures. Albert had a gift for making life exciting. His exploits made for some of the most memorable times of our lives.

A celebration of Albert’s life will be held on May 23, 2026 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Visitation 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm and Memorial Service 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, where memories, stories and love will be shared just as Albert would have liked.
