Alfred "Freddy" Martinez

Alfred Martinez “Freddy”, 60 years old, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas. 
 
Alfred was born in Lubbock, Texas on January 10, 1964, and adopted by Manuel and Marguerita Martinez. He attended high school at Calallen and graduated from Robstown High School. 
 
Alfred joined the U.S. Army after graduation from high school after serving in the Army from 1982-1986, he returned to Corpus Christi and was employed at the United States Postal Service until retirement. 
 
While in high school, Freddy played percussion in the band. He loved playing softball and played with different city leagues. 
 
Alfred is preceded in death by Angie and their son Adrian, his parents/grandparents Manuel and Marguerita Martinez, and his father Manuel Perez. 
 
He is survived by his mother Elodia Albiar, and his children Jarred, Jacob, and Jennifer Martinez, one grandson, one granddaughter, two brothers Adolfo (Gloria) Albiar, Eric (Chris) Albiar, sisters Katy (JR) Hernandez, Michelle (Roland) Martinez, as well as numerous aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Art Lopez, Oscar Valdez, Manuel Valdez, Albert Lopez Jr., Pete Rios, and Eric Albiar. Honorary Pallbearers will be Woody Hernandez, and Adolfo Albiar. 
 
Funeral Service will begin on Thursday, March 21st, at Sawyer-George Funeral Home with viewing and visitation from 5-7:00 pm. Rosary to follow at 7:00 pm. Services will continue Friday, March 22nd beginning at 11:30 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home followed by 1:00 pm burial at Coastal Bend State Veteran's Cemetery.
