Alta Roberson

Alta Ruth Roberson, 90, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away Monday, May 2, 2011. She was born September 5, 1920 in Calallen, Texas to Albert Samuel and Virginia Welch Atkinson. Alta Ruth was a homemaker who adored her family. She was known as Sister by her five brothers and one sister, Mom to her four children and Memaw to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to cook and sew and made all her guests feel at home. She will be greatly missed by her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert W. Roberson. She is survived by her daughters, Janis V. (Gary) Swartz of Corpus Christi, Texas and Bobbie R. (George) Gresham of Odem, Texas; her sons, Richard L. (Joyce) Roberson and Samuel S. (Lenee) Roberson all of Bastrop, Texas; her brother, Charles H. Atkinson of Odem, Texas; her sister, Virginia Geraldine Miller of Corpus Christi, Texas; 9 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family present will be from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M. Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 P.M. Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Robert Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in Robstown Memorial Park.
