Anna Lou Cook Engelking, 80, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away Saturday, June 26, 2010. She was born May 15, 1930 in Vernon, Texas to Kenneth and Ina “Cookie” Cook. Mrs. Engelking taught homemaking and sciences at Aransas Pass, Gregory-Portland, Skidmore-Tynan and for 30 years at West Oso. She was a longtime member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, the Order of the Eastern Star and the Daughters of the Nile. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Joe K. Cook. She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Engelking, Pamela Watson and Penny Engelking all of Corpus Christi, Texas and Peggy Engelking of Houston, Texas; her grandchildren, Justin Watson of Waco, Texas, Allison Watson of San Marcos, Texas and Matthew Watson of Corpus Christi, Texas; her cousin, Glenda Cook May of Illinois; and her beloved cat, Caleb. Visitation will be from 10 A.M. until 8 P.M. with the family present from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Private graveside services will be conducted for the family. Public memorial services will be conducted at 3 P.M. Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make contributions to the General Fund of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 3151 Reid Drive, Corpus Christi, Texas 78404
