Archie Dicky, 71, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at a Corpus Christi hospital. He was born in Kosse, Texas on October 25, 1938 to H.O. Dicky and Rosa M. Amos. He lived his early years in Lott, Texas, later moved to California and returned to Texas to live in Waco and Calvert where he graduated from high school in 1957. After graduation he joined the U.S. Navy. Following his service in the Navy, he returned to Texas and began a career in law enforcement which included the Bryan Police Department, College Station Police Department and Brazos County Sherriff’s office. After leaving law enforcement, he married Bennie Faulk and moved to Corpus Christi, Texas, where he was employed by H.E.B. He loved working outside and spending time with his dog, Chase. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bennie J. Dicky; grandparents, Alphonsie and Lena Davis; father, H.O. Dicky; step-father, Cannon Amos; mother, Rosa M. Amos; son, David Dicky; granddaughter, Alex Dicky. He is survived by his sons, Wayne Dicky and Alan Dicky of Bryan, Texas; step-children, Kary Jo Thigpen (Kirk) of Willis, Texas, David Dohmann (Carol) of Goliad, Texas and Kurt Dohmann (Gail) of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Wayne Dicky II of Bryan and Michael Dicky of Montgomery, Alabama; brothers, Rodney W. Amos (Rita) of Hearne, Texas, Cannon Ray Amos (Debra) of College Station, Texas, Ricky Lynn Amos; sister, Connie Ricks of College Station, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind many good friends and neighbors. Visitation with the family present will be from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. Friday, April 16, 2010 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 A.M. Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jack Willoughby officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society, Hospice, or the Salvation Army.
