Benito Diaz, Jr.

Benito Diaz Jr. was born on February 18, 1967, in Corpus Christi, Texas, a place that would always hold a special significance in his heart. He passed away on November 22, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and a passion for life that touched all those around him.

Benito dedicated his career to serving his community, working diligently in maintenance for the Corpus Christi Naval Air Base and MHMR. His strong work ethic reflected his character—committed, reliable, and always willing to lend a helping hand. He not only found pride in his work but also a sense of purpose, and that radiance extended into every facet of his life.

As a graduate of Calallen High School, Benito's formative years shaped his love for sports, music, and dancing. He embraced every moment with joy and an infectious spirit that encouraged those around him to enjoy life to its fullest. Many will remember his laughter echoing through the halls, his enthusiastic participation in Special Olympics, where he demonstrated courage and a competitive spirit that endeared him to everyone.

Benito was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Robstown in his younger year. Family was everything to Benito; gatherings were filled with laughter, shared stories, and the warmth of love that created a tapestry of cherished memories.

As we gather to celebrate Benito’s life, we remember not just the man he was, but the joy he spread to everyone around him. Visitation will take place on December 3, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Sawyer-George Funeral Home located at 12497 Leopard St, Corpus Christi, TX. The funeral service will begin shortly after, at 11:00 AM, allowing family and friends to honor and reflect on the impact that Benito had on our lives.

He is preceded in death by his father, Benito Diaz, Sr., and his mother, Alicia Garcia Diaz. 

He is survived by  his brothers Jerry (Virginia) Diaz and Noe Diaz. His uncle Chris (Becky) Garcia. 

While he is deeply missed, his spirit will remain alive in the hearts of those who loved him, a reminder of the beauty of life and the connections that make it worthwhile. May we all strive to carry forth his legacy of love and joy, cherishing the moments we have together, just as Benito cherished his time with us.

Graveside service will be held at Robstown Cemetery Friday, December 19, 2025 at 10 am.
