Bennie R. Carrizales went to be with Our Lord and Savior on December 02, 2022.

Bennie was born in Corpus Christi to his parents, Johnnie G. Carrizales Sr. and Herminia H. Carrizales on April 04, 1956. He was a devoted servant of the Lord, his wife, children and grandchildren.

Bennie graduated from Mary Carroll High School in 1974 and received his Associate Degree in Applied Science Mid-Management at Del Mar College. Bennie was an employee for HEB, Refinery Terminal Fire Company, Nueces County Sheriff’s Office, Payless Foods, Celanese, T-Mobile, Tetra Technologies, Swire Waste Solutions, The Brock Group, Turner Industries, Brown & Root and Apache Industrial Services and retired in 2022.

Bennie was Certified in many areas of Medical and Fire Training. He was in Associations with Annaville Volunteer Fire Department-2nd Assistant Chief, International Society of Fire Service Instructor, and on the Board of Directors-Refuge of Hope Pregnancy Center.

On April 26, 1980, Bennie married Irene Sosa and were married for over 40 years. Bennie leaves behind to cherish his memories his daughter, Patsy Reyna (Adrian Roper); sons, Tony Reyna (Jennifer Reyna) and Benjamin Carrizales (Ashley Carrizales); grandchildren: Andrew Reyna, Tyler Swinyer, Jillian Garcia, Tanner Carrizales, Noah Villarreal, Abby Reyna and Samuel Carrizales; sister, Anna M. Frieze (Gregg Frieze) and brother, Steve Carrizales (Kimberly Carrizales), along with numerous nieces, nephews and other family members whom he loved immensely.

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and the Holy Spirit," Matthew 28:19.

This verse describes who Bennie was! God worked through Bennie, touching the lives of the people he met and knew. By sending out scripture and prayer requests, he was committed to helping others understand and grow in their faith. He meticulously planned weekly lessons to instruct and lead Sunday school bible study at his church. And every week he was a regular customer at Denny's where he attended Men's Prayer Breakfast. Over the years he was also able to be a part of Panama Missionary trips, Matamoras Mexico Missionary trips, Houston Missionary trips with Sam Craig Ministry, Sam Craig Ministry (working with Kickapoo Indians), Shoe Box Ministry, and Church Without Walls (feeding the homeless). In recent years his passion was with Christmas Stocking Ministry where he would help organize, lead, gather toys and candy year around for kids less fortunate.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Irene Carrizales; sister, Mary Ester Carrizales; brother, Johnnie G. Carrizales, Jr. and both his parents.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, December 09, 2022, with the visitation from 12:30PM – 2:00PM and the funeral service beginning at 2:00PM at Sawyer-George Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to The Grove Baptist Church Christmas Stocking Ministry. Donations may be made online as well at www.reachthegrove.com.
