Benjamin Moreno

Benjamin Moreno, a cherished member of the Corpus Christi community, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2026. Born on April 1, 1943, in Corpus Christi, Texas, Benjamin lived a life marked by dedication, service, and a deep love for family.

Benjamin proudly served in the United States Army, achieving the rank of E4 before his honorable discharge. His military tenure was distinguished by the awarding of the National Defense Service Medal and recognition as a Marksman in Rifle. His commitment to his country remains a testament to his integrity and valor.

A true sportsman at heart, Benjamin was an avid golfer who spent many joyful hours on the golf course, especially in Alice, Texas. His love for the game reflected his disciplined nature and his zest for life.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Gloria Moreno, who stood by his side through many years of marriage. Together they raised two sons: Randy Moreno and his wife Jeanna of San Antonio, Texas, and Ronnie Moreno of Sandia, Texas. Benjamin’s legacy continues through his two beloved grandchildren, Ella Marie Moreno and Bently Hunter Moreno, who brought immeasurable joy to his later years. His extended family includes several nieces and nephews who remember him fondly.

Benjamin was preceded in death by his parents, Zenovio Moreno and Eva Moreno, as well as several brothers and sisters, all of whom played significant roles in his life story.

Friends, family, and all who knew Benjamin are invited to pay their respects during a visitation on June 24, 2026, from 10:00 AM until 11:00AM at Sawyer-George Funeral Home, located at 12497 Leopard Street, Corpus Christi, TX 78410. A Rosary will take place on June 24, 2026 at 12 noon. A funeral service will follow at 12:30 PM on the same day at the same location. Interment will take place at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery, 9974 I-37, Corpus Christi, beginning at 2:00 PM.

Benjamin Moreno’s life was a beacon of steadfastness, kindness, and service. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched. May he rest in peace.
