Billy Powell

Billy Robert Powell, born January 5, 1942, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2021. Billy was born to Henry Powell Sr. and Alvera “Vera” Schneider. He had many names, Daddy called him Billy Robert, we called him “Brother Bill” and his nieces and nephews “Uncle Bill” to his many friends “Mr. Billy”. He would always greet you with his smile and it never faded. Billy is preceded in by his mother, Alvera “Vera” Griffco; Father, Henry Powell Sr. and stepmother, Ruby Powell; brother, Henry Powell Jr. and wife, Brenda Powell; sister, Peggy Lyssy; and sister in-law Veda Walkup. Left to cherish his memory, sister, Joy Nell Brown and Doug of Coalgate Oklahoma, brother, Billy Walkup of Quanah TX, brother, Otto Powell and Imelda of Houston TX, sister, Bessie Cantu and David of George West TX, brother in-law Mike Lyssy of George West TX, sister, Robbie Sue Neslony and Lawrence of Corpus Christi TX, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and family friends. We will all miss him! We would like to thank the staff and nurses of Angel Bright Hospice Inc, for the care and compassion they showed brother Billy. He was always ready to see them for his care.
