Bobby Eugene Riley passed away on August 5, 2021, in the care of River Ridge Nursing Home in Calallen, Corpus Christi, Texas. He is survived by his five children, Shane (Gail) Riley of Boerne, Texas., Vickie (Donnie) Menn of Bossier City, Louisiana, Larry Riley of McAllen, Texas, Robert Riley of Corpus Christi, Texas and Rory (Holly) Riley of Robstown, Texas. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jay and Elsie Riley, his brother, Jay William (Jay/Billy) Riley, his sister, Joyce Johnston, and three grandchildren. He was born September 24, 1934 in Freer, Texas. He was proud in the fact that his family was one of the first three families to settle in the Freer area. He graduated from Banquete High School in 1952. He began working in the oilfield and in 1957 he started working for Suntide Refinery in Corpus Christi, Texas and retired from there after 20 plus years. He enjoyed camping when his children were younger. He was an avid wood craftsman and loved working with his hands. He also enjoyed his hobby of raising birds of many different varieties. He loved watching his Houston Astros and Texas Longhorns play ball every chance he could. He enjoyed many years at his lake house on Lake Corpus Christi before going to stay at Windsor Calallen in Corpus Christi, Texas. We would like to thank everyone at Windsor Calallen and River Ridge Nursing Home for all the care they had given him over the past several years. A graveside service will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Robstown, Texas on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at 10 o’clock a.m. Brother Ralph Green of Christ Central Baptist Church, Corpus Christi, Texas will be presiding. Services will be held on Tuesday, August 10, 2012, at Memorial Park Cemetery in Robstown, Texas at 10 o’clock in the morning.
