Burlen Franklin Kerr, a cherished member of his family and community, passed on February 19, 2026, at the age of 92. Born on October 26, 1933, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Burlen lived a life dedicated to his loved ones, his career, and his passions.
Throughout his professional journey, Burlen worked at Fulton Coastcon, where he contributed his skills and dedication. Beyond his career, he found great joy in being surrounded by his family. His hobbies included an appreciation for antique cars and a love for animals, which reflected his vibrant spirit and curious nature.
Burlen is survived by his beloved family, including his son, Raymond Kerr (Donna), daughter, Bridget Hays (Stan), and son, Randy Kerr. He was also a proud stepfather to Bruce Beddoe and a doting grandfather to Sarah Elizondo and Randi Lee Means (Chance). Burlen took immense joy in his great-grandchildren, Caleb Elizondo, Jayden Elizondo, and Brantlee Means.
He was predeceased by his wife, Carlean W. Kerr, his mother, Bessi Ross Herr, his father, John Wesley Kerr, and his son, Franklin James Kerr. Burlen also mourned the loss of six siblings who had a significant impact on his life.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Stan Hays for the exceptional care and love he provided to Burlen, especially during the last couple of months of his life.
Visitation will be held on February 27, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Sawyer-George Funeral Home, located at 12497 Leopard St, Corpus Christi, TX 78410. Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place at the same location from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Burlen will then be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery, 4607 FM1889, Robstown, TX 78380, with a burial service beginning at 2:30 PM.
Burlen Franklin Kerr will be remembered fondly for his dedication to his family, his passion for life, and his loving spirit. He leaves a legacy of love and warmth that will continue to inspire those who knew him.
