Carol McElroy was born on July 18, 1963 in Sacramento, California. Carol went to her heavenly home on April 17, 2019, after a courageous battle with cancer. Carol was predeceased by her mother, Celia Peek. Carol is survived by her husband of 38 years, Darryl McElroy; her daughter, Megan McElroy Earle (Joshua); her son, Ryan McElroy (Sarah); 7 grandchildren, McKenzie Earle, Skylar Earle, Emma McElroy, Peyton Earle, Kaeleigh McElroy, Jacob Earle and Samantha McElroy; sisters, Billie Peek and Loretta Peek; and brother, Bill Peek (Tonya). Carol is also survived by many nieces, nephews and many wonderful friends that she also considered family. Carol resided and made her home with her high school sweetheart, Darryl McElroy, in Nueces County. Carol was a long-time employee of NOV in Robstown, Texas where she managed their inventory of oilfield industry tools. Carol was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend to many. She enjoyed hunting at the family lease in Hallettsville, riding horses, running barrels, bible study and spending time with family and friends. Carol loved God and used every opportunity to share her faith with anyone who would listen. She raised her children in church and taught her grandchildren the importance of God being the central part of our lives. Carol's inspirational and courageous journey with cancer and how she overcame every obstacle with faith while praising God touched so many people and through the help of social media, she touched and deeply impacted the lives of many people that she had never even met. Visitation will be at Sawyer George Funeral Home on Friday, April 19, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Calallen Baptist Church on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at noon, with the burial following at Memory Gardens at 2:00 p.m. In lieu flowers the family has requested donation be made to: www.HarborFoundation.com.
