Carolyn Kloth

June 20, 1943 — April 26, 2023

Corpus Christi

Carolyn Sue Kloth (“Sue” or “Mimi”) of Corpus  Christi, Texas passed away peacefully on April 26, 2023 (79). She was born on June 20, 1943, to Clyde and Stella Trotter in Stamford Texas.

She left high school early and pursued a career as a cosmetologist around the age of twenty-five. She opened her own shop “Sues High Fashion Salon” and ran her business until she retired for approximately thirty-six years; it had its perks being located next door to Whataburger.  When her children visited the shop, she would treat them with an apple pie and small milk shake. She loved to go country and western dancing, with her husband and friends; as her children got older, she and Mickey would take them to a few of the local dance halls.  She loved being outdoors and hunting with her sisters and family along with celebrating the holidays with them because that is when all the family always got together.  Bar-B-Ques were also another thing she really enjoyed, these also brought the family together in one location, and allowed her to spoil her grandkids, driving her children crazy by allowing the grandkids to do what she did not allow her children to do.

Prior to and after her retirement she enjoyed traveling to various parts of the country. In her retirement one of her favorite things to do was visiting the casinos with some of her friends and family.  The slot machines (one arm bandits) were her favorites, while she was known to win a bit at the three card poker tables. In her spare time, you could find her watching westerns on television, she could watch Matt Dillon all day. When the kids and grandkids would come over, there were many times she would get a game started like left right center or farkle or might teach the kids to play blackjack if she could not convince them to put together puzzles with her. I think the only things that would compete with her grandchildren would be her dogs and her grand dogs. She treated and spoiled them as much as she did her grandchildren. If they did not have any bad habits, give her a week or weekend with them and sure enough they would form one or a few.  If you were ever over at her house in the mornings or evenings you would quickly see she also enjoyed seeing her birds, the doves would flock her house by the dozens, and she always kept the hummingbird feeders full.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Clyde & Stella Trotter; sister, Louise Linebarger; and brother, Bud Trotter.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, "Mickey" Arthur Lee Kloth Jr.; daughters, Shelley (Mitchell) Hines, of Corpus, Christi Texas, Misty (Justin) Gonzalez, of Three Rivers, Texas; son, Michael (Teena) Kloth, of Ames, Iowa; grandchildren, Coltin Hines, Chanel Hines, Jordon Kloth, Mikayla Kloth, Kaylee Hall, Christopher Weachter, Jaylee Gardner and Tyler Gonzalez; great-grandchild, Tatum Kade Guerra; sister, Imogene Turner and numerous nieces and nephews.
