Our Beloved Uncle, Charles Anderson, Jr., passed from this life into his Eternal Home in Heaven on Friday, January 25, 2019, at the age of 87. He was born in Nueces County, Texas on September 17, 1931 to Charles Anderson and Cordie Emma Starr Anderson. He graduated from Orange Grove High School in May, 1948. The majority of his working years were spent at Nicholson Building Supply as a bookkeeper. After his retirement, he worked part-time for the Fraternal Order of Police, Corpus Christi Lodge #27, where he was awarded Honorary Membership on December 1, 2001 for his dedication and support. He was a faithful member of Grace United Methodist Church where he had served as an usher and was presently teaching his adult Sunday School Class. Our uncle was an honest, humble, kind "gentle man" who loved his God, his family, his church and church family and his friends. He was one of our most treasured blessings and his memory will forever live in our hearts. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Cordie Anderson; his sisters, Ora B. Hunt, Mary Lou Hobbs, Ethel Edwards, Mae Swensen and Mabel Anderson; his brother, George Anderson; nephews, Wayne Edwards and Kenneth Ray Edwards; nieces, Norma McKinzie, Betty Ann Overton and JoAnn Doffing. He is survived by his nieces and nephews; Robert Hunt (Mary Ann), Myrna K. Odom (Rocky), John Hobbs (Kathy), Kris Dychoff (Richard), George T. Edwards (Susan), Marsha McDaniel (David), and Cheryl J. Swensen. He is also survived by 26 great nieces and nephews and several great-great nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at the Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation for family and friends will be held an hour prior to services. Burial will follow at 2:30 P.M. at the Seaside Memorial Park in Corpus Christi, Texas.
