Charles Edward Huff- beloved son, devoted father, awesome brother, cherished uncle, cousin, nephew, father in law, “Paw Paw Chuy” and dear friend, passed away leaving behind a legacy of love, service and unwavering faith. Known for his gift of gab and never meeting a stranger, he lived a life rooted in connection and compassion.
A true servant at heart, he found great purpose in his journey of sobriety, inspiring others through his example and his mission to feed and care for his “homeless homies,” a calling that meant the world to him. His passion for God shone brightly—he shared daily scripture messages, attended Mass faithfully, and constantly encouraged others to grow in faith and love.
As a father, he was fiercely dedicated to his three sons, never missing a game or chance to cheer them on. He extended that same love and support to his grandchildren, nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews, always showing up with pride and joy. Whether he was coaching, watching or reminiscing, sports were a lifelong love—from competing in Beach to Bay and playing on the school golf team to rooting for all his loved ones on the field.
A gifted mathematician, tireless worker and true jack-of-all-trades (and master of them too), he approached every task with excellence and grit. His motto—“I love you, but don’t tell anyone”—captured his playful spirit, just as much as his infamous call of “Bottom bottom boots!”
He had a deep love for the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. Some of his most cherished memories were made by the water or deep in the woods, sharing early mornings, memorable stories and laughter with family and friends. Whether it was casting a line or tracking game, these moments reflected his adventurous spirit and love for nature.
Music was another thread woven deeply into his life. He had a special place in his heart for his Czech heritage and music. We all found joy in hearing him sing old songs with the people he loved. Whether around a campfire or at a family gathering, his voice—always full of heart—brought warmth and connection to every room. His love of music and his traditions will continue to echo in the memories of those who sang beside him.
He was committed to caring for his parents, attending every family celebration and simply being present in the lives of those he loved. He opened doors, lent helping hands and greeted everyone with kindness. Above all, he loved deeply, lived faithfully and left a mark on everyone he met.
He will be remembered with love, laughter and endless gratitude. Just so you all know, he loves you very much- just don’t tell anyone.
We are deeply grateful to the Coast Guard, first responders, family, and friends who dedicated their time and effort to search for him.
In this difficult time, we kindly ask that, instead of sending flowers, you consider making a donation to the Frontline Healing Foundation or Supporters of Warriors Heart. Your support can make a meaningful difference and help those in need. Thank you for your compassion and generosity.
