Charles S. McClain, 85, died on August 25, 2025 in San Antonio, TX after a short illness.

Charles was born September 1, 1939 to Martha McClain  (Turner) and Seville Jordan in Columbia, LA. 

He served in the United States Air Force from 1959-1963 as Air Policeman. He married Yolanda on December 31, 1987, and were happily married until he was called home. He retired from the Postal Service on 8/22/1992 after 30 years of service in San Francisco, CA. 

Charles was a family man and he loved all his family very much. He enjoyed playing tennis, going bowling, playing miniature golf, and playing pool. He has 1 daughter, Liz Mims; 3 sons, Charles Severe McClain, Jr., Chunsley Seymour McClain, and Clifford Alan McClain; 2 stepsons, Michael David Lee, and Marcus Daniel Lee. He has 8 grandchildren, Fatima, Chrisse, Chelsea, Bronson, Mercury, Asha Yen Lee, Amber Maria Thompson, and Jade. He also had 3 great grandchildren, Oliver, Lilly, and Joseph.

He also leaves behind 10 siblings, Laura, John Beaver, Isiah, Liz, Eddie (Lucille), Greg (Phylis), Steve, Anthony, John (Karen) Walker, Wayne (Dawn).

He is preceded in death by his parents Martha McClain, Seville Jordan, sisters, Lilly, Claudette Roquemore and brother Tommy (Shirly).

There will be a memorial service at Sawyer-George Funeral Home, 12497 Leopard St., Corpus Christi, TX 78410, on September 12, 2025 at 2 pm.

All who attend are welcome to join the family in the reception room following the service for light refreshments.
