Charlotte Mcmeans

March 21, 1932 — August 15, 2022

Corpus Christi

Charlotte Harden McMeans of Calallen, Texas, passed away Monday, August 15, 2022. She was born March 21,1932, in Bell County, TX, to Marvin Harden and Della Vivian Weaver Harden. Charlotte was the oldest of five sassy girls, and her spunky character was a favorite of all who knew her. Charlotte was a cheerleader in high school, and graduated Banquete High in 1949. Charlotte attended Baylor University and enjoyed working in the education system, in particularly with the special education department at Brush Country Co-op, located within Mathis ISD. She retired in 1989 and went on to enjoy time with family and fellowship with her church. Charlotte was a long-time member of Grace United Methodist Church and was active in Sunday school groups at Grace for many years. One of her biggest passions, besides yelling at the Dallas Cowboys on tv, was her love of reading and music. A voracious reader, she also looked forward to tuning into her favorite game show, Wheel of Fortune. She was so very proud of her family and always had their back. Charlotte is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 71 years Edward McMeans, her sisters, Frances Hale and Marlena Griffin. She is survived by her sisters, Grace Richards, and Billye Martin (Melwyn); daughter Linda Lynch of Magnolia, TX; her sons Jimmy (Karla) McMeans of Corpus Christi, TX, Wesley (Patsy) McMeans of Oakville, TX, “bonus” son Oscar Zepeda and his wife Zenaida, of Orange Grove, TX, and special family friend Pistol Rosebrock of Oakville, TX. Charlotte was also Gran to grandchildren Lori (Furrie) Lynch of Dallas, TX, Graham (Honey) Lynch of Montgomery, TX, Cody McMeans of Odem, TX, Bryan McMeans of Odem, TX, Autumn McMeans of Odem, TX, Billy Reeves of Odem, TX, Tim (Lilly) Raska of Skidmore, TX, Josh Salinas of Corpus Christi, TX, Austin (Lizzie) McMeans of Fort Worth, TX, and Karen (Justin) Robles of Corpus Christi, TX. Gran had thirteen great-grandchildren, of which she proudly boasted, as well. Charlotte was blessed with numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends, who loved her quick wit and opinion on most topics.
