On June 23, 2026, Cheryl Lynn Stites, peacefully received her eternal reward and was welcomed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Cheryl Lynn Wilson was born on September 14th, 1952, in Springfield, Ohio to John and Letia (Wolverton) Wilson and was the youngest of five children. She graduated from North high school in Springfield, Ohio. She also attended 2 years at Cincinnati Bible Seminary.
Cheryl lived a life rooted in faith, love, and service to others. She was known for her kind heart, unwavering devotion, and the grace she extended to everyone around her. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life and was evident in all she did.
She was a devoted wife/mother/grandmother/sister/friend, cherishing every moment with her family. Cheryl had a remarkable gift for creating beauty and joy, especially during the Christmas season. Her luxurious and elegant decorating style made her home a place of wonder, earning it a feature in the Caller Times, Christmas Home Tour. In the years that followed, visitors returned annually, drawn by the breathtaking displays she so lovingly created.
Cheryl also shared her talents through her church, directing Christmas plays that brought joy, laughter, and touched countless hearts. A gifted seamstress, she carefully crafted several wedding dresses, each a treasured part of life’s most meaningful celebrations.
Professionally, Cheryl excelled as the #1 sales representative at AT&T for over 20 years, earning numerous awards. She also held a real estate license and a insurance license. She was an exceptional saleswoman not only for her achievements, but for her heart—she was deeply committed to helping individuals and families reach their goals.
Cheryl is lovingly remembered by her husband, Don Stites, whom she married in 1973; son, Donny Stites of Little Elm, TX; one granddaughter, Maddie and two grandsons, Jake and Gavin; daughter and son-in-law, Heather Gregory Kerr and Jared Kerr of Fulshear, TX; granddaughter, Jordan; grandson, Landon; one step grandson, Charlie; and step granddaughter, Hannah; sister and brother-in-law Marcia and Tom Pembleton of Bedford, TX. Other survivors in-law, Pete Stites (Janet), Sanda McFadden, Jeff Stites (Karen); eight nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Letia (Wolverton) Wilson and step mother Jane (Shaffer) Wilson; sister and brother-in-law, Joanne (Wilson) and Bruce Trude; brother and sister-in-law, David and Debbie Wilson; sister, Kathleen Kay Wilson.
Though we grieve at her passing, we find comfort in knowing she is at peace in the presence of her Savior.
A celebration of Cheryl’s life will be held at Arlington Church of Christ on Friday 17th at 12:30 pm. The family appreciates both floral tributes and memorial donations. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Arlington Church of Christ.
