Christopher Lee Stringer was born December 18, 1972, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to John and Cynthia Stringer. He was a lifetime resident of Corpus Christi until his death on Friday, June 13, 2025. Christopher graduated from Calallen High School in 1991 and held various jobs around the Coastal Bend area following, including with TXDOT, Crawdaddy’s, and Good Samaritan Mission. He and his parents were long-time members of Calallen Baptist Church.
Chris enjoyed spending his time reading books, especially those written by James Patterson and Stephen King. He also enjoyed watching movies, cooking, and helping others. His children and grandchildren were the pride and joy of his life. He never missed an opportunity to be there for their big moments or to get on the floor and play with his grandchildren. Christopher married Rhonda McGuiness on Valentine’s Day in 2019 and lived out the rest of his life with her by his side. He will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, kindness to strangers, storytelling abilities, and his love for an ice-cold beer after a long day. His striking blue eyes live on through his beloved granddaughter, a beautiful reminder of his presence in each new day.
Christopher was predeceased by his father, John W. Stringer, his maternal grandparents, Houston and Elsie Carrell, and his paternal grandparents, Artis (Pat) and Katie Kilpatrick.
He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Stringer; mother, Cynthia Stringer; daughters, Rebekah Stringer and Shannon (Mason) Cox, son, Iain Stringer; grandchildren, Hunter Jones, Harper Jones, Theodore Cox, and Alexander Cox; sister Stephanie (Russell) Roth; nieces Lauren, Sydney, and Kendall Roth. He is also survived by his stepchildren Rebecca, James (Sheila), Jeffery (Patricia), and Jennifer; step-grandchildren Bella, Peyton, E.J., Candice, Lillith, and William; and step-great-grandchild Anathema.
Christopher was a donor and continued to help others even after his passing. The family would like to thank Ms. Carole with Good Sam, Mark with Guardian Funeral Home, and everyone at Sawyer George Funeral Home (especially Norman, Michelle, and Angela) for their care of Christopher and compassion with the family in this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Christopher to the American Heart Association or Good Samaritan Rescue Mission.
A gathering of family and friend will be held from 3 pm to 6 pm on June 27, 2025 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home, 12497 Leopard Street, Corpus Christi, TX 78410.
