Clayton Edward Benson

Clayton Edward Benson was born April 18, 1959, in Corpus Christi, Texas.

On March 31, 2026, he died unexpectedly.

Clay lived and worked throughout the Coastal Bend. He specialized in auto body and RV repair. Clay was an avid hunter and fisherman. The outdoors filled many of his days. He will be fondly remembered as a founding member and Vice President of the Big Buck Club. Clay lived his life as a single man. He loved to make people smile and found friends wherever he went. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clifford Allie Benson, Jr. and Katherine Elizabeth Adair.

Clay is survived by his sister, Rebecca Fawn Heinsohn(Tommy) and his brother Alan Dobie Benson (Judy). His nephews, Nathan Thomas Heinsohn(Brooke); Matthew Stephen Heinsohn (Lauren); Robin Dobie Benson (Melissa) and Clifford Allie Benson (Melissa).

Great nieces, Paige Helen Heinsohn, Allison Lee Heinsohn, Lydia Dove Benson, Harper Michelle and Hadley Fawn Heinsohn.

Clay will be greatly missed.

A celebration of life will be determined at a later date.
