Corene Haug

Corene Joyce Monse Haug, 90, of Robstown, Texas passed away Monday, November 25, 2019. She was born March 27, 1929 in Orange Grove, Texas. Corene was a longtime farmer with both her husband and her son. When not helping with farming, she could be seen on her riding lawnmower, mowing her yard. She loved being outdoors working in her flowerbed or garden. If Corene had to stay inside she would be cooking, watching game shows or busy on her word search puzzles. Before she met and married Alton, Corene attended beauty school and received her license of Cosmetology. She made a perfect score on her exam which she was told very few had done at the time. Corene is preceded in death by her parents, Paul Monse and Mary Monse; husband, Alton Haug; brothers, James and Phillip Monse; and son-in-law, James Cox. She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Eugene); son, Mark (Missy); brothers, Harris, Alvin, Jarvis and Marvin Monse; grandchildren, Kevin (Franki) Cox, Melanie Weiss and Wade Chambliss; one great granddaughter, Ariana; and numerous nieces and nephews. Our family would like to thank Garden House Residential Assisted Living, especially Sam and Raul for the loving care she was given while there. A special thanks to Christus Spohn Hospice for their love and compassion during her long illness. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 P.M. Friday, November 29, 2019 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ronnie Watson officiating. Burial will follow in Robstown Memorial Park.
