In Loving Memory of Dalia Lopez
It is with deep sadness and loving remembrance that we announce the passing of Dalia Lopez, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Dalia dedicated her life to serving others, especially her family and community. She volunteered at elementary schools throughout the Rio Grande Valley where her children and grandchildren attended, always eager to lend a helping hand and support local students. In recognition of her commitment and selfless service, she was honored as the Most Outstanding Senior Volunteer for Roma Independent School District.
Throughout her life, Dalia worked tirelessly to ensure her family was cared for and never went without. Alongside her beloved husband, Fabian, she owned and operated a fruit stand in the Valley and became well known for selling some of the best watermelons around.
Dalia was a familiar face throughout the community. Many knew her from her yard sales, outdoor markets, and flea markets. Whether she was hosting a sale, setting up her own booth, searching for treasures, or simply visiting with friends, she brought warmth and joy wherever she went. She had a gift for connecting with people and making everyone feel welcome.
One of Dalia’s greatest joys in life was dancing. She loved music, laughter, and celebrating life’s moments with those she loved. It brings comfort to her family to imagine her now dancing in the streets of Heaven.
Dalia is survived by her loving sons, Mario Lopez and Reyes Lopez; her cherished grandchildren, Mario Jr., Jacaranda, AJ, Matteo, Sandra Lorena, Luis Jr., Estevan, and Fabian; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Alana, Aleah, Jayvyn, Noah, and Nyla. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will forever treasure her memory.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Fabian Lopez; her son, Luis Lopez; and her sister, Estella Saenz.
Dalia’s love, strength, generosity, and unwavering dedication to her family will never be forgotten. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched, the family she cherished, and the countless memories she created. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
