Dean was born on November 26, 1938 in Beeville, Texas to one Ora Eunice Wilkerson and Virgil Kelley McFall. Dean was 85 years old at the time of his passing. Eunice moved her family south to the coastal city of Corpus Christi, TX. where Dean spent most of his childhood. Dean had five brothers: Jake McFall lived in Waco, TX. with his wife Francis, Joe McFall moved to Florida, but died at an early age to Cancer. Roland McFall lived in San Marcos, TX. with his wife Barbara. Unfortunately, he drowned on a fishing trip to Sugar Lake, Mexico, as a young father. Dean’s brother Bill, lived in Oklahoma City. Dean had one sister, Ruth, who was married to Don Walker. The only sibling he is survived by is Gene McFall, his twin brother.
Dean and Gene McFall joined the U.S. Navy before their High School graduation in 1954. While in the Navy, Dean and Gene served on the Destroyer Escort U.S.S. Vammen which was based in San Diego California. After several tours of the South Pacific, Dean and Gene were honorably discharged in 1959. Gene Married and moved to Oklahoma City to be with his brother Bill, while Dean stayed in Corpus Christi, to be close to his Mother.
After several attempts at school and different life ventures, Dean landed the job that would become his life-long career. Dean was hired at the old Southwestern Refinery, which turned into Champlin, and is now Citco. Dean started working in field operation, but was eventually promoted to the Champlin laboratory. Dean worked at Champlin Refinery from 1965 till he retired in 2000.
In 1963 Dean met and married his bride, Patricia Irene Ford of Portland, Texas. On February 15, 2024 Dean and Pat celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary. During their life together Dean and Pat raised two sons. Colin and Cory McFall. Colin married Dawn James McFall of Corpus Christi and they have two children, Cameron (Kaylee) and Victoria McFall. Cory married Carol Coombs McFall of Corpus Christi and they have two daughters, Abby and Lacy McFall. Dean took great pride and joy in his wife, sons, and daughters-in-laws (which he loved like they were his flesh and blood). He truly adored and loved his grandchildren, whom he bragged on to anyone who would listen.
Dean had several hobbies throughout his life. He liked to hunt, fish a little and he enjoyed golfing. However, Dean decided later in life that these hobbies were just a big waste of time. His main pastime soon became trying to save the world through politics. He was a member of the “John Birch Society” and Republican Party. Going to monthly meetings and state conventions.
Dean also loved his old car. He has a 1949 Ford Coupe, which he spent countless hours and dollars fixing up and showing off. He joined a car club and went to monthly meetings at Snapka's Drive In. Driving around in circles for hours showing off his “Old Hot Rod” brought him joy.

Later in life, Dean spent most of his time with his wife, Pat, at their house in the Calallen area outside Corpus Christi. He kept himself active and in shape by mowing grass, trimming trees, and burning brush. Sometimes these activities landed him in the local emergency room receiving stitches or other treatments for falls or burns. Dean and Pat also did a fair amount of traveling in their golden years: San Diego, San Francisco, and Monterey California, Big Bend, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, and Colorado were some of their favorite places to visit.
Dean, Pat and family attended Morgan Avenue and Gardendale Baptist Church when they lived in Corpus Christi and were members of River Hills Baptist Church in Calallen for the past 50 years.
Dean was a great provider, husband, father and grandfather. He will be missed dearly, until we see him again in heaven.
