Deeanna Griffin

DeeAnna Wright Griffin, 58 of Robstown, Texas, left her earthly body on Dec. 18, 2017, following a long battle with congenital heart defects. Born Dec. 6, 1959, in Harlingen, Texas, DeeAnna was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Martha Wright. DeeAnna grew up in the Rio Grande Valley with her sister Terry and two brothers, Marc and Arthur. She always loved being outdoors, usually near the beach or lake with her friends and family. DeeAnna was passionate about participating in livestock shows, a passion she was dedicated to throughout her life. She served on the Lamb Committee for the Nueces County Junior Livestock Show for more than a decade. It was at the Willacy County Livestock Show, where DeeAnna met Ken Griffin, the love of her life. They were married in Sept. 1985, and two years later were blessed with a son, Bryce. DeeAnna was a devoted wife and mother, and found true joy in her family. Her heart and home were open to everyone, and on any given day visitors could find DeeAnna in her kitchen, preparing a meal for countless guests. DeeAnna's crowning glory was seeing her beloved son marry the love of his life, Kayla Griffin, on Oct. 13, 2017. She welcomed her new daughter-in-law, and her Tennessee family with love and open arms. We invite everyone to join us in celebrating the life of DeeAnna Wright Griffin for a Visitation Service at Sawyer-George Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 28 at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Orange Grove. A Celebration of Life Reception will be held immediately following the funeral services at the Griffin Residence in Calallen.
