Delma Mae Cowan Spruell, 96, passed away peacefully at her home in Lockhart, Texas on February 10th, 2026, surrounded by her family. Delma was born on May 20th, 1929 to Daniel and Velma Cowan. Delma graduated from Robstown High School in 1946 and married William Calvin Brown where they raised five children. She later married James Spruell who was the love of her life, and they spent many loving years together.

Delma was predeceased by her parents, husband, siblings - Margaret Wilson, Margie Smith, Blair Cowan, and her twin sister Zelma "Sally" Gossett, daughter Sherri Jo Brown, son in law Harold Palmer, brother in law Junior Gossett, grandson Dustin Lee Brown, and her favorite dog Ruby.

Delma was blessed to have five surviving children, Judy Palmer, Barbara (David) Chambliss, Buddy (Cindy) Brown, Mickey Gene (Debbie) Brown, and Johnny Mack (Sally) Brown.

"MeMe" was also blessed with her many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. Her grandchildren are Debra (Mike) Justice, Mike (Margaret) Petron, Mikki (Vern) Fox, Cody (Brenda) Chambliss, Billy (Wendy) Brown, Staci (Josh) Ramos, and Katie Brown. MeMe also leaves behind her 12 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren, and

many nieces and nephews.

Delma also leaves behind her beloved cats, Squirt, Booger, Tiny, Jake, Cat, and Fluffy.

Pallbearers will be Mike Petron, Cody Chambliss, Billy Brown, Mike Petron Jr., Noah Fox, and Brayden Chambliss.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Brantley, Layne Justice, Josh Ramos, and Vernon Fox.

The family wants to extend a special thanks to Compassus Hospice, and especially nurses Tammy and Karla for their special care.
