Dennis went to school in Corpus Christi and served honorably in the US Navy. Dennis was proud of his Native American heritage and had a strong association with Indian folklore and the American Eagle. His primary hobby was playing guitar and writing original music. He and his step brother spent numerous hours in their teen and young adult years making music, Dennis on guitar and Eddie on harmonica or percussion. This hobby earned him the nickname Guitar Jason, and he was known well in the Flour Bluff and Padre Island areas. He loved the beach and spent endless hours there. He worked the last few years as the maintenance man at Barton Street Pub in Flour Bluff, where he would also sometimes play guitar for the patrons. He developed treasured friendships during his years working there.
The family would like to thank Mr. John Nicholson for the care he showed Dennis by providing him a job and a place to live his last few years. It made a lot of difference in Dennis's life and we are grateful.
To all Dennis's friends who cared for him in his last days, we thank you. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society or any non-profit serving veterans.
