Derwin Ray Arnold

Derwin "Ray" Arnold, went to be with the Lord on August 2, 2021 at the age of 74.

Ray is survived by his wife, Wanda; three children Mark Arnold, Ricky Arnold, and Cathy Jo Lopez; daughter-in-law Mendy Arnold; and grandchildren Richard Michael Arnold, Spencer Wayne Arnold, Avery Ray Arnold, and Adelyn Taylor Arnold.  He is also survived by his siblings Wanda Powell; Manly Bolton(Kandy), Bradley Bolton(Debra) Jack Bolton and Tracy Henry(Greg); as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other family members all of whom he loved dearly.

Ray was born in Houston, Texas on February 16, 1947 to Florence Harris Arnold and Elmo Cecil Arnold. After high school Ray joined the United States Army as a medic, serving his country for two years in the Vietnam war. Ray was proud of his service to our country. After being discharged Ray went back to what he knew best. His love of hard work and fixing things supported a long and successful career owning and operating dry cleaners in and around Texas.  A talent he later passed on to his sons Mark and Ricky.

Ray married his high school sweetheart, the love of his life, Wanda June Arnold on March 4, 1967.  They shared 54 years of marriage and built a legacy of love, faith, and family together.  Ray was a proud and wonderful father, who loved nothing more than spending time with his children and grandchildren, preferably out on the water fishing.

Ray was a kind and generous man who never met a stranger.  His warm and beautiful heart was loved by many and he will forever be missed.  Those closest will especially miss hearing him say  “Who loves you baby”.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents Florence Harris Arnold and Elmo Cecil Arnold.

The funeral service will be held at 2pm on Friday August 6th, 2021 at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi. Guests may arrive at 1:30pm.
