Doris Graham

April 4, 1944 — February 14, 2018

Doris Gayle Graham of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born April 4, 1944 in Santa Maria, California to Robert L. and Edna F. O’Dell. They moved to Texas in 1950 and finally settled in Andrews, Texas, where she attended Andrews High School and was a member of the Mustang marching band. She played clarinet and truly enjoyed and talked fondly of her years and friends in the band. She met and married the love of her life, J.W. “Dub” Graham while in Andrews. They married on January 20, 1962 and enjoyed 56 years together. They had two children, Monte Dale and Ka-Lynn. They moved around following the oilfield until they finally settled in Corpus Christi where she went to work for Target Drilling in 1979 and remained in the same building through many name changes until finally retiring in 2015 from Pool Company. She loved her job and she loved her family and was truly devoted to both. She is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her loving husband, J.W. “Dub” Graham; children, Monte (Audrey) Graham and Ka-Lynn Graham; her brother, Robert Doren O’Dell; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude and love to her caregiver for the last eleven months. This woman was a godsend to our family and we will forever be thankful for the wonderful care and love she gave our mother. She will forever hold a special place in our hearts and remain a part of our family. “We thank you so much, Mrs. Edna Garza. You are an angel sent straight from heaven. We love you.” There is a memorial service being held on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. All are welcome at the house of Dub Graham at 9341 Moonbeam Trail, Corpus Christi, Texas, after the service for visitation.
