Douglas Poe

Douglas Vernon "Pops" Poe, passed away on Saturday March 31st, 2018 in Corpus Christi, Texas. Born on May 5th, 1946 in Brady, Texas, Doug joined and proudly served in the United States Army for over 20 years. After retiring from the Army, he started the Master's Motorcycle Club where he spent his last few years with the wind on his face while riding his Harley Davidson and collecting money and toys for children's charities. Doug is preceded in death by his parents, RV “Daisy” Poe and Lena Grace (Harry) Pogue; his sister, Janet Outterson and his granddaughter, Faith Leigh Poe. Doug is survived by his wife, Ofelia Poe; brother, Donald James Koenig, sons, Brandon (Misty) Poe and Jeff (Stacey)Poe; daughters, Christine (Goran) Jovanovic, Pamela (Frankie) Amador and Leslie Poe along with 2 step-daughters, Maggie (Dee) Cruz and Patricia (Dawn) Hodges. Doug was the proud grandfather of Serenity Villafana, Elizabeth Porch, Levi Coe, Nikkie Miller, Faith and Chance Poe; step- grandchildren, Tabatha, Rudy and Patrick Lem, Chelsea and Ashley Hodges and Alex Poe. Visitation will be held Friday, April 6th, 2018 from 10:30 am until 11:30 am at Sawyer George Funeral Home, 12497 Leopard Street with funeral services to follow at 11:30 am. Burial with military honors will be at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery, 9974 IH 37 Access Road at 1:00 pm.
