Earl Edward Koenning, age 74, was called home to God on June 15,2021.
He was a loving husband, father, Papa, brother, uncle, friend, and Scouter. He was born in Orange Grove, Texas on November 8, 1946 to Walter and Ella Mae Koenning.
Earl served in the army from 1966 to 1972. He was a Vietnam veteran. He was also a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Earl was very active in the Boy Scouts of America for numerous years. He was awarded the Silver Beaver on the Council Level and was a Vigil member in the Order of the Arrow.
He is preceded in death by his son, Matthew and his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carolyn; his daughters, Melissa(Dale) Kennemer, Melanie(Scott) Wilson; his grandchildren, Ashley Kennemer, Derek(Samantha) Kennemer, Lynsey(Dakota)Nava, Chelsey(William) Johnson, and Hannah Wilson; his Greatgrandchildren, Ryder and Rylee Johnson and McKaylynn Nava; His sisters, Shirley(Darrell) Morris, Waldeen(Hilmer) Halfmann, his brother, Jimmy(Adeline) Koenning; his sister in law, Eileen(Randy) Schuette. Numerous nephews, nieces, family, and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Memorial Service will be Saturday, June 19, 2021, at 2:00 pm with family present at 1:00 pm. The interment will be on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at the St. John of the Cross Catholic Cemetery in Orange Grove, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the South Texas Council, Boy Scout of America, 700 Everhart, Building A, Corpus Christi, Texas 78411.
Honorary pall bearers are Darryl Bartosch , Kevin Middagh, Mark Pittman, and Shawn Tomlin.
In attendance will be Troop 32, Orange Grove, Texas
A reception will follow at the First Lutheran Church, 600 S Dibrell St., Orange Grove, Texas.
