Edgar Henry Mitschke, 75, of Robstown, Texas, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2010 in a Houston hospital. He was born September 22, 1934 in Winchester, Texas to Martin and Magdalena Reinhardt Mitschke. Mr. Mitschke was a U.S. Army veteran. He married Helen Proske on June 8, 1968. He worked for Burnup and Sims/Mastec Construction Company for 39 years, retiring as District Manager. He was a Charter Member of Messiah Lutheran Church where he served the church as a Trustee, Elder, Usher and on the Building Committee, was a parent volunteer with the Boy Scouts, and loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting and gardening. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Wilbert Mitschke and a sister, Viola Rathke. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Helen Proske Mitschke of Robstown, Texas; his children, Pamela (Kyle) Luckenbach of Corpus Christi, Texas and Craig (Gina) Mitschke of Cedar Park, Texas; his grandchildren, Kaleb and Kelsi Luckenbach, Jordan and Logan Mitschke; his step-grandson, Cody (Heather) Luckenbach of Corpus Christi, Texas; his mother-in-law, Florence Proske of Giddings, Texas; his brothers, Fred (Elinora) Mitschke of Austin, Texas, Clarence (Dianna) Mitschke of Austin, Texas and Melvin Mitschke of Winchester, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 10 A.M. until 8 P.M. with the family present from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M. Tuesday, January 26, 2010 in Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 A.M. Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at Messiah Lutheran Church with Pastor Dale Brynestad and Pastor Gary Childs officiating. Burial will follow. In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make contributions to Messiah Lutheran Church Building Fund.
