Elizabeth Brammer

Elizabeth A. Brammer passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2019. Elizabeth was born in Harlingen, Texas on November 20, 1946 to Tom and Beatrice Brammer of Mercedes, Texas. Elizabeth was a graduate of Mercedes High School and of Sam Houston State University. She also studied at Pan American University and Texas A&I University. Elizabeth was one of those fortunate people that knew what she wanted to do with her life at an early age. She wanted to teach and was a natural born teacher. In her career of over fifty years as an educator she taught English and Journalism at Donna ISD, Hebbronville ISD, Premont ISD, Calallen ISD, Gregory-Portland ISD, Robstown ISD and most recently at Banquette ISD. Throughout her teaching career she was an advocate, sponsor and coach for UIL Academic competition, working mostly with students competing in language and journalism competitions. She was a devoted educator who cared deeply about her students and strived to help those students bring out the best in themselves. She was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan. Elizabeth was a kind, caring and loving person that brightened the lives of her students, friends and family. She is survived by and will be deeply missed by her brother, Thomas Bryan Brammer Jr. and numerous cousins. Plans are still pending on a memorial service.
